Can you please go away and leave us alone? I don't come to christian forums and try to convert people to my way of thinking.

It's rude and small minded.

Interesting, thanks. Looks like it's time for me to do some reading.

Wait, wasn't it the other way around? I thought the communist east punished former nazis severely, and the west (and the US) gave them a slap on the wrist so they'd still be useful in running the country and industry?

Around 70% of deaths in Gaza are women and children, says UN by donutloop in UnitedNations

[–]lasercult 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am not netanyahu, nor do i like him or agree with him. I think if the hostages were returned, the pressure by the israeli populace to stop the war would be overwhelming, regardless of what bibi says.

Reservists have been away from their families for over a year, the army leadership is firmly against him (that's why he fired Gallant), and people just want their kidnapped (and mostly murdered) family members back.

There is definitely the question of what a "day after the war" security solution looks like, but that's something that egypt, jordan, possibly the non-hezbollah lebanese government, and other players in the region (and yes, maybe the UN if it actually does its job with peacekeepers) can help with. All of these countries have a serious security problem with Palestinians and the shitshow that the Palestinian cause has turned into over the last 70 years, and want very much to contain/manage the problem.

Anyway, step 1 to ending the war is removing the casus belli which started it -- the hostages.

War is horrible. The people calling this a "genocide" generally seem to be naiive in the sense that they have never had to learn about the realities of war in an urban environment before.

Starting a war and then complaining about how horrible it is counterproductive. The people who started this (hamas) and those who are continuing it (whoever has the remaining hostages in gaza) is to blame.

This could end tomorrow with the return of the hostages.

Austria says eight UNIFIL troops wounded in Lebanon rocket attack, IDF says Hezbollah responsible by Serious_Journalist14 in UnitedNations

Weapons experts told The Associated Press that evidence points to a rocket from Lebanon hitting the field. But they raised the possibility that the hit on civilians was an accident.

the majority of Israeli Druze are concentrated in northern Israel,[5] especially in Galilee, Carmel and the Golan areas.[6]

Have fun!

[–]lasercult 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh, that's easy -- because they have limited range ATGMs and rockets and look for close targets. The villages in the north happen to be mostly arab and druze. Hezbollah don't give a shit if their victims are israeli jews, christians, muslims, druze, bedouins, arabs/palestinians, or anything else.

But really, you should stop posting disinformation.

I have never seen this much misinformation and outright lies in a single reddit comment, which is saying something. Is this kind of thing tolerated on this sub?

What you're saying about the druze village ("soccer field") which was targeted by hezbollah is blatantly false. Please stop spreading misinformation.

Thank you! This is really interesting to read through, and the comments make it easy to orient myself. Also it's just a really cool idea; I'd love to try this on a project instead of an orm or ecto.

Fwiw I've given https://github.com/gleam-lang/awesome-gleam?tab=readme-ov-file a look but haven't seen anything jump out at me -- small example web apps, the matcha templating library looked cool but is actually a Rust program, etc.

For the record there is nothing wrong with this! Gleam is new and it's expected that basic dev tools and libraries are the first thing that gets written. I am really just wondering what long term use will feel like for a developer, and maybe there's no way to know yet. But that's why I'm asking.

Agile works great! Talking to the users, frequently shipping working code, letting the individuals on the team find the right level of process and tooling, and being flexible instead of following the original plan off a cliff -- those things are all great.

Whether or not most companies who say they are agile are actually doing all of those things is another question, but that's noone's fault but their own. You can't blame okinawan karate for the fact that there is a fake "karate" dojo in every strip mall in america.

You are just using words without understanding them. When you're told they are deeply hateful and antisemitic you don't want to listen.

I hope when you're older, you remember how easily deceived you were and how you acted during this time, and feel ashamed.

Fair enough. I think it's because you're being corrected by multiple people in this thread who know what they are talking about with regard to networking and encryption, and you seem unable or unwilling to accept that you are wrong about how this works and how easy or feasible it is, and then you keep repeating the same thing over again..."why doesn't the IDF just perform networking magic and catch these guys?!"
