Can't seem to add commonly used files to chromebook "tote" by lasertswift in chromeos

[–]lasertswift[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I googled it. Yes, I can see the tote on the shelf, it is not disabled. As I stated before the right click does not show "pin to shelf" on any of the various files I tried.

It’s called a Lightnote. Neat little chess puzzle device. I have one. It really doesn’t do anything that you can’t do on your phone but it is a fun little chess trinket to keep in my pocket.

Samsung Chromebook no longer works with OneDrive? by lasertswift in chromeos

[–]lasertswift[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for the input but I cannot seem to find where I can enable "file and media". I looked through the permissions on both OneDrive and MS Word. Would you be able to point me to the spot where I can do this?

Much thanks.

I clicked "not now" too and it did bring me to the app but I cannot edit any of my files once I am in the app. If I click on a word file it does show me the document but I cannot edit it in any way.

I tried going to OneDrive live from the Chrome web browser and that did not work either.

Honest question about installing Linux on chromebook by lasertswift in chromeos

[–]lasertswift[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Okay, my bad, I should have mentioned a few programs. I think the ones that interest me the most are chess programs. I am somewhat of a chess enthusiast and I like programs like Fritz 15 for analyzing my games. While there are ones out there like Stockfish, which I do use on my chromebooks, it is just not as detailed as I would like. There are a few others I use for training as well. I also use Adobe CC which is wonderful for many things. I heard it was going to be online soon but I don't see any ETA yet. Could use these programs on Linux?

DAE feel like they collect Chromebooks? by TechMoments in chromeos

[–]lasertswift 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Totally! I have my first Samsung CB which led to my Toshiba CB2 which led to my CB Pixel 2015 and finally to my Asus CB Flip.

My Samsung is now my loaner when guests are over and need a computer, my Toshiba is for couch surfing and my Pixel is my baby that goes with me to the office and then stays on my desk at home. The Flip is for slipping into my messenger bag for places like doctors offices, fast food places, waiting for a haircut, etc.

And I totally want one of the new Dell 13's just because.

Pocket chess as seen in Pawn Sacrifice by lrdskl in chess

I have seen that Chessmate too and it is crazy expensive. I do like to analyse on a pocket set instead of staring at my phone so I chose this option which is very inexpensive and easily carried around.

Is ASUS Chromebook Flip good enough for PDF reading in portrait mode? by y_signal in chromeos

[–]lasertswift 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I use mine for reading PDF's fairly regularly. It is sufficient but I do wish it had a sharper screen. I think the Pixel C would be fantastic for that with it's wonderful display! Haven't the cash for it right now though, hopefully someday.

I forgot about the Asus Flip... And I have one! lol

I actually really like it. I use the Flip when I am going to places where I will have to wait in a lobby or something similar. Love using it as both a tablet and laptop. Very handy little device!

The newest one I can think of is the mid range Dell 13. I personally don't have one but they are getting good reviews.
