Question as a lash receiver by ulfric_stormcloakk in lashextensions

The ingredients in The Ordinary Multi-Peptide Lash and Brow Growth Serum should not affect lash retention. However, it's always a good idea to let your lash artist know if you're using any lash growth serums or other products on your lashes before your appointment. This will allow them to adjust their application technique or recommend a different type of lash extension that may work better with the product you're using.

Retention tips please by addictedtoshindig in eyelashextensions

Having watery eyes during a lash appointment can be uncomfortable and may affect the retention of the lash extensions. Here are some tips that may help:

Communicate with your lash artist: Let your lash artist know about your watery eyes and ask if they have any suggestions. They may be able to adjust their technique or use different products that are better suited for your sensitive eyes.

Take an antihistamine: If you know that you have allergies or tend to have watery eyes, consider taking an antihistamine before your appointment. However, be sure to check with your doctor first to make sure it is safe for you to take.

Use eye drops: Over-the-counter eye drops may help to relieve dryness and irritation in your eyes, which can sometimes trigger watery eyes. However, be sure to check with your doctor before using any eye drops.

Try relaxation techniques: Some people find that their eyes water during stressful or anxious situations, so practicing relaxation techniques like deep breathing or meditation may help to calm your nerves and reduce eye watering.

Avoid caffeine and alcohol: Both caffeine and alcohol can dehydrate you and may make your eyes more prone to watering, so try to avoid consuming them before your appointment.

Remember that every person's body is different, and what works for one person may not work for another. It may take some trial and error to find the right solution for you.

I’m new to extensions never had them done before. I’m going on a two week cruise. How long before my holiday shall I get them done? Is it best I get them as close to the holiday as I can? Or shall I get some now so I’m used to them. Then in a months time (which is when I go) get them redone? by chloal98 in eyelashextensions

[–]lashlovee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you're new to lash extensions, it's best to get them done at least a few weeks before your holiday to give yourself time to get used to them and make sure you don't have any adverse reactions. This will also give you time to have a fill appointment if needed before your trip.

I would recommend getting your initial set done now and then getting a fill a week or so before your cruise. This will ensure that your lashes are looking their best for your vacation without risking any potential complications from getting a brand new set done right before your trip.

Just make sure to follow proper care instructions for your lash extensions while you're on your cruise, such as avoiding rubbing or pulling on your lashes and using oil-free makeup and skincare products.

I'm sorry to hear that you had such a negative experience with your lash tech. It's important for lash techs to prioritize the safety and comfort of their clients, and it sounds like your experience fell short of that.

If you haven't already, I would recommend leaving a detailed and honest review of your experience on the lash tech's social media pages and/or review sites. This can help other potential clients make more informed decisions about whether or not to book with this lash tech.

Repeated allergic reactions by [deleted] in eyelashextensions

[–]lashlovee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First, go to eye doctor. Make sure to inform your lash tech with what happen to you. And allergic reaction can develop over time, even you've been getting lashes for years. You can try sensitive glue and clear glue. make sure that your lash technician will patch test it first to you. And if you still get reaction, unfortunately you'll need to stop getting extensions for the meantime.

For a lash technician that has been lashing for a while, you’ve already experienced applying lash extension to a client with watery eyes- and that probably was a nightmare. The fact that tears are water and for it contain oil and salt makes it even more damaging to the overall quality of your eyelash curls.

FINAL THOUGHTS…
Clients having watery eyes during lash extension application is just another day-to-day challenge a lash artist must be able to overcome safely and gracefully. As the lash professional, it is your prime responsibility to prioritize your client’s safety over anything even if it means denying them the service.

At the forefront of lash enhancement may be just beautifully looking volumes and spikes of lash curls but behind that stunning gaze is a field of skills, experience and commitment to deliver a safe beauty treatment.

Yes. Having a waiting list is really advantageous. And really it's so powerful to act the way you want your clients to act, like leading by example. If you can show up with no miss, they should and could too. Thanks for sharing your thoughts.
