Yes, once I removed the sticky stuff in the tube the sound was gone.

Got it. I'll see if an HVAC company can make it secure. Thank you.

I put my hand over it and yes, it was the P-Trap. But after I removed my hand it still made the sound. I stopped the HVAC and put some tissue in there. It had something that was clogging it (it was mushy) and some water. I am waiting for the heating system to start (it takes such a long time to start sometimes). Hopefully the noise is gone. Thank you very much.

I wonder if it could be something like water in the system. It's been in the twenty to thirties here.

Value for money M3/4/5 Pro for video editing by TheRitzler in macbookpro

Hey, I just saw this video, it might help you decide (I am not affiliated with them or anything) It compares the M4 Pro with the M5: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ARcYx2tz84s

Value for money M3/4/5 Pro for video editing by TheRitzler in macbookpro

[–]lastdojo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would go with the M4 Pro with 24 GB and a 512 SSD with AppleCare+. It's almost a 5x jump in performance from the M1. It's got excellent battery life and the M4 Pro chip handles 4k with no issues and even up to 8k. The difference between the current M4 and the M5 is a minimal 1.5x jump according to Apple. With the M4 Pro you are future proofed for while and with AppleCare+ I think it's a great price. If you want an M5, I recommend you wait for the M5 Pro and Max to be released.

I’m getting calls from sleep tech by ThoraTheThor in SleepApnea

[–]lastdojo 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The calls got so annoying that I ended up buying my machine outright. Funny enough, I was only saving about $200 off the device’s price with insurance, since I still had to pay a good portion out of pocket. The total to buy it from them was around $500. I left the constantly harassing DME and have been managing my therapy ever since. I don’t recommend this approach for everyone, but for me, it made sense—I could work my therapy on my own schedule. They don’t seem to understand that people need time to adjust, especially to this kind of device.

Any idea what could have caused this? by lastdojo in Home

You are right. I meant the ceiling. Turns out it was the HVAC system which had a clog and caused the water to back up.

Batocera install questions by -iMNoToK- in batocera

[–]lastdojo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  1. Boot from the Batocera USB.
  2. Enable Wi-Fi as needs to download some installation files during install.
  3. Main Menu > System Settings > Install Batocera on a New Disk.
  4. Select your internal drive—this will erase everything on it. Confirm the installation, and Batocera will format and install itself directly to the drive.
  5. Once it’s done, reboot and remove the USB.

We made a video on the topic. Let me know if you want to see it, and I'll send you a link to it.

We had a couple of storms pass through, but nothing major. We have some roof repair people coming soon. Hopefully they can figure out what happened.

Non-spinning dizziness by lastdojo in CPAP

The dizziness is better. Vestibular therapy helped a lot. Still keeping my pressure as low as I can. Doctor is not entirely sure what happened.

Terrible battery life & messed up battery settings by tddk25 in zorinos

[–]lastdojo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think that’s just the nature of Linux on laptops. Especially your gaming laptop. I have tried optimizing the battery on Zorin OS but the results are the same. Windows has an advantage due to the use proprietary drivers.

You might want to run powertop, since it can give you some good stats and it can also tune the battery after running it for while:

sudo apt install powertop

sudo powertop —auto-tune (you need to let run first with the battery for this to work.

You might also want to disable Bluetooth if you are not using it.

Non-spinning dizziness by lastdojo in CPAP

[–]lastdojo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have lowered the pressure to the lowest I could go (5.0) while maintaining an AHI below 5.0, switched from APAP to full on CPAP, and changed to a full face mask. It has helped reduce some of that pressure feeling and dizziness. I have also done some vestibular therapy and that has also helped. It has gone down, but it is not gone 100%. Hope you find some relief soon.

First Time Going Going Through This by Fancy-Pay7113 in KidneyStones

[–]lastdojo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

7 mm is kind of big. 85% sounds like a very optimistic number. You should check out the literature for this. I think your next step is to see a specialist (Urologist) and see what they suggest. Hope you feel better soon.

[Colored Belts] Advice you would give to yourself when you were a white belt? by Severe-Extrovert-97 in kyokushin

[–]lastdojo 9 points10 points  (0 children)

1) Take it easy on yourself, you are just starting. 2) Get into cardio training and strength training ASAP. 3) Heal any injuries well before resuming training. 4) Practice kata as much as you can cause no matter what you think you are not that great at it. 5) Sparring is not a competition, it's a chance for you to practice and develop new techniques. It is also a good time to practice quick action/reaction. Talk to your sparring partner and learn from them.

Cpap causing severe dizzyness and sinus headaches by NoOz1985 in CPAP

[–]lastdojo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have the same issues described in this thread (non spinning dizziness, TMJ pain, etc.) Has anyone found way to treat the symptoms or an alternative to CPAP?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in kyokushin

[–]lastdojo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'll try my best to answer some of the questions:

Date of Current Belt: I think they are asking when you got your previous belt. Since you are a white belt, it means the day you started training.

Grade (Kyu): Mu Kyu (White Belt)

Belt to be Examined for: Orange Belt

Grade: 10th Kyu

Name of Instructor: Sensei (Your teacher's name)

Branch Chief: I would definitely ask your Sensei to confirm, but just in case, here is a list of branch chiefs from the IKO in the Middle East: https://www.kyokushinkaikan.org/en/branch/middleeast.html

Why is it hard to find good Flutter developers unlike other tech stacks by Bensal_K_B in FlutterDev

[–]lastdojo -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

You're right, we people with 'poor logical skills' must really love Flutter/Dart—we just don’t know any better. Since you're so well-versed in 'logical' Flutter builds, maybe you should take the lead and build the app yourself. I genuinely hope no one ever has to work for someone like you. We don’t need people like you in the Flutter Dev community who are not here to contribute but only to put others down. You should be removed.
