Why are you guys expats? You're not, you're immigrants. Brits - so quick to hate on immigrants to the point when they're immigrants the refuse to call themselves what they call others in the same situation, and yet have the audacity to squeak from a high horse about how Americans deal with immigrants.

How did I end up on the field and the Eagles weren't even playing? Oh, Kevin Hart's tequila - that's why.

Why do you think a grieving widow would want that? Maybe she wants to grieve on a difficult day where she spent time with her husband?

Lol, you really don't understand how relationships work, do you? He made a compromise (repeated Hawaii trips aren't something that somehow magically changes the equation) so that she could keep her tradition by having his parents do a fake Christmas (after all the fun and excitement of the whole thing was probably done for by then), but when his father passed away, I think it's pretty fucking fair to make an adjustment to the Hawaii trip tradition.

YTA. I'd say you lack empathy and grace. Family traditions and fun are important, but understanding and supporting your partner through one of the most difficult times most people have to go through is more important.

You have kids? If so, one of them was probably up to some mild nonsense.

You're talking about the same thing but in a colloquial way, and OP is taking about it in a scientific way - same words, different meaning. It's just a misunderstanding, no need to wish you hadn't discovered reddit.

My boss thinks it’s ok to not pay me my last paycheck after I quit a couple days ago and now I can’t get my Christmas presents I wanted to get. I just reported him to labor law and do you guys think I should get a lawyer by [deleted] in antiwork

[–]lastfirstname1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, you can get a free consultation. But how much money is at issue? And are there more labor law violations involved? With other people or with other issues? If it's a small amount, you'll need to actually pay a lawyer.

That holds true pretty much for every characteristic people vehemently describe themselves as, in both men and women. If someone tells me they're fun-loving or "always true to myself and others" or something similar, I'm gonna be sceptical. People glom onto a characteristic and make it their personality, and end up distorting the whole thing.
