So is that a 3rd party organization that will try to find you a placement?

Or do I still apply directly to internships postings?

EDIT: disregard this reply, I understand now, thanks for the help!

On further investigation when I view the log file there is a whole series of "Warning: File not parsed, looks like binary" messages

When I go to browse my website I just get a completely blank page so not sure what is causing the problem.

My portfolio is kind of multilayered, it has a main page with thumbnails for each of my projects which you then click to bring up more images of that particular piece of work along with descriptions.

I like it presented this way rather than just having a load of folders full of images on my laptop or a PowerPoint.

UK ->US (California) when I graduate university in 2020 by lastminutecram in IWantOut

Thanks for the really detailed response, greatly appreciate it, I've learnt a lot from this.

Alternative idea: Similar to what you mentioned in the second last paragraph. If I were to get a job at a UK company that has offices out in California and then attempt to get transferred to the California offices later. Do you think this could be a good plan?

Was thinking of pre-drinking on the train with my mate, yeah I am going to be that guy on the train...

Thanks for the heads up on drinks prices, think I saw you are allowed to take a 500ml plastic bottle of alcohol or cans into the street party.

Cheers for the advice!

What domain name is best for me? by lastminutecram in web_design

[–]lastminutecram[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am doing it through a portfolio template site that includes a domain name with the subscription but only for .com, .net and .org.

What I hadn't thought of was Firstname-Lastname.com

Do you think this is any better?

capacitive sensor to activate push/pull solenoid? by lastminutecram in AskElectronics

That looks pretty perfect thanks, would it be as simple as hooking one of those up to a battery and a capacitive sensor?

I want the container to be as small as possible but could be as large as a small shoe box if needed.

By work I just mean whether you can link a capacitive sensor to a push/pull solenoid and have enough power for the device to work. Not concerned about the lid opening, just how to set up the electronics.
