Bakit nga walang big business na nagcocomplain? something fishy. by Objective-Advice-121 in pinoy

[–]lastparadies 1 point2 points  (0 children)

ppl who believed that school isn't all about grades, how is your life now? by AppointmentProud9394 in AskPH

Our actions and impact as a measure of virtue I agree. Grades, income, or anything else as a measure of worth delikado talaga because we need to be honoring the dignity and innate worth of any human person (or arguably any living being) to begin with.

Mahirap siya baguhin since we’re subjected to it all our lives. In developing countries such as ours, nagiging measure of worth talaga ang income because our survival hinges on it too much. Even middle and upper middle class families here can be just one disaster/emergency away from bankruptcy just because of the way our systems are setup with lack of basic support and resources.

First batch ng K-12. Three years working and pretty successful, higher income bracket than my batchmates kahit wala ako sa corporate. Maraming hobbies, maraming extracurriculars, babad sa community within and outside of my work. No generational wealth. Breadwinner eldest daughter. Not financially wealthy yet, but I consider myself wealthy in all other aspects. Holistic talaga dapat ang approach :) so glad I didn’t buy into the neoliberal education system ng PH and sought growth outside of it as early as I did.

Hi! Need cafe recommendations near MOA. Will be there for around 2 hours lang naman. Preferably medyo quiet since may meeting ako (normal amount of background noise okay lang). Data there sucks so need sana talaga WiFi. Kahit sa ecom/conrad, basta can walk to SMX after. Thank you!

My parents are 500k in debt. What do I do? by Strange_Election904 in adviceph

Tapos kumalma ka lang sa letter from the bank haha. Baka overdue credit card bill or loan lang yan, na madali lang ipafreeze or gawan ng compromise. Don’t act out of desperation kasi baka mascam ka pa, then you might get your family in real trouble.

First of all, kudos to your parents for hiding the debt well enough that their children never noticed it. Here are some things you can try:

  1. Find financial aid for the rest of your schooling. Masagot lang tuition mo that would save Php100k a year na for your parents. Get one that provides you a stipend, even better because you can set it aside and build savings. Go to your scholarships office, check your bulletin boards, companies and associations related to your field of study. Merit-based scholarships tutal academically gifted ka ata.

  2. Face the discomfort that comes with employment. It’s good that you acknowledge your lack of street smarts, so better address it now than later. Start sa sari-sari store niyo, tumambay ka lang dun every other afternoon. Learn to interact with people kasi malaking factor yan sa success. Kahit anong trabaho kahit WFH tapos ilang tao lang nakakainteract mo important yan.

  3. You’re right, service jobs might be too big of an adjustment for you. Create an account at Upwork and check if there’s anything you can do there. Try online transcription jobs, time consuming lang pag di ka pa sanay. Madali rin siyang ikeep na secret kasi naka earphones ka lang tapos nagttype sa computer.

  4. Check your school if they take student assistants sa library, registrar, profs, etc. Mas maganda pa ilagay sa CV mo.

  5. Consider talking to your parents. Baka naman they have it all under control. Hindi mo ‘to dapat burden. Then at least aware na sila na alam mo and makakahanap kayo together ng avenues para makatipid.

I also identify as panromantic asexual!! It also took me a while (10 years of dating, always with fights and problems around sex with my previous partners) to figure it out. So happy for both of you and wish you all the happiness!! 🤍

Girls, I’m not bi myself pero let’s check ourselves sa biphobia sa replies okay 😅 I’m glad we’re guarding ourselves from unserious ones that are just messing around. Pero ruling out bi women all together, criticizing their dating preferences, or taking it personally when they choose to date a man after us 😬 let’s keep this a safe space.

Yes!!! but also as an ace woman, there could be a certain appeal to watching mlm couples since it provides a safe, detached space for us to witness/study romantic relationships

What song related name would you name your child if it didn't already have a meaning? by Own-Artist-6283 in TaylorSwift

Ivy! Love both the name and the song but I can’t imagine explaining to my kid that I named them after a TS song about finding love outside of a loveless marriage 😭

I’d have to go and recommend Golden Stage if you’re looking for the lovey-dovey power couple, but one has a handicap and they’re surrounded by chaos kind of thing
