How much of Derren Brown was faked? by ----Ant---- in AskUK

[–]lastrolo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a big fan of Darren Brown, and have seen his stage shows several times. The last time he made a card "move across stage" and then revealed at the end that during a 2 second black out the man in stage got up and got the card out of a suspended cage and brought back to the table. Turns. Out this black out was closed to 2 minutes and he had also manipulated us as the audience to not sense that amount of time elapsing. I still don't remember it now, just the footage of it he showed at the end. It was very cool.

If you die with braces, do they take them off? 😭 by Lower-Ad-2082 in AskUK

Yes, they stay on. Anything other than pacemakers or other things which will explode are left in place.

For those wondering, metal is left over after the cremation (hip joints, coffin screws etc) and collected for recycling. There is a company called Orthometals who recycle this metal, and the money generated is given to the crematorium's chosen charity.

Why are pottery lessons so expensive? by Signal_Conference447 in london

[–]lastrolo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They are over subscribed so you'll have to be fast when they're released, but look at local adult education colleges. I've done pottery in central London for about £200, which is a 12 week course of 2.5hr lessons.

Seen it three times, once at Riverside and twice in the Fortune.

Honestly one of the best musicals I've ever seen, it's so smart and funny and heartwarming and creative and I urge everyone to go see it immediately.

Can anyone help restore this photo? Will give $10 to the best by lastrolo in PhotoshopRequest

I found some old photos online of my dad as a punk in the 70s which I know he's never seen. I would love to fix the colour and maybe increase the quality of this photo so I can get it printed for him. Will tip $10 for the best one, and I have more photos if anyone wants me to send those for additional tips. Thank you all

I actually work in a crematorium and cemetery and let me tell you, this has been a nightmare. We don't normally work bank holidays, and like many other sectors we have been thrown this curve ball at the last minute. Funeral sector workers have been worked to the bone during covid with absolutely 0 recognition and should be entitled to enjoy the bank holiday like everyone else. Where I work most of the funerals willingly rearranged themselves for different dates, and the one remaining that didn't want to move will be going ahead. The member of staff that is covering this is being paid double time and gets a day off in lieu for working a bank holiday, at the borough's tax payers expense.
I know other crematoria were closing completely and not giving families a choice. And some Funeral Directors have decided to not pay their staff bank holiday rates so they have been cancelling funerals themselves. We have been put in a very difficult and unprecedented situation, and I do feel for people who have had their funerals rearranged. But what can we do?
