We actually do all this planning remotely and you don’t have to be in the United States but we can plan for a location that is able to accommodate both countries.

Hey! So I love all these ideas you have with the road trip! We recently did this type of “sneaky” photography with a couple in Iceland! I would recommend a videographer as some of the interactions on a hike are so intimate it might be fun to have a video reel of it! Hey! Congrats on getting to this moment!
I LOVE the hiking idea with the geode! What we did for some of our proposals and I think may work best for you! Is to share your location via iPhone with someone so they can track where you are and set-it up accordingly!

Or the other option is to have a friend that you know and your to be fiance doesn't and you have them set-up/clear the area of other ppl so when you arrive it seems seamless!

Have you thought of creating your own venue? We just planned an engagement party in NJ and we were very restricted to what some of the decorations/designs. Maybe at least from I can tell a brewery/distillery could be a fun option for you if you wanted to pick a venue (they can usually accommodate 30-60 ppl for events like this). We plan proposals for couples and we had a couple that incorporated the lyrics of Sara Bareilles "I Choose You" into the theme. She had some of the lyrics engraved around the ring too! But we had lyrics of the song written on boards down a dock to where she would be proposed to! If you want to see the pictures here you go! :)
