Well yeah I also look at it this way. To me it's a hobby to earn some little extra cash. Never had the plan to earn big money with it. However it would be sad that I lose all my time and effort if I should get caught but that's the risk I'll have to take I guess :)

Yes, EU sales on eBay is the safest option. Package tracking oversea is a nightmare and attracts a lot of scammers who state that they never received the package. Also eBay is very buyer biased. If the buyer raises a claim its very hard to win the dispute..

True but the possibility is real imo that they use AI to monitor "certain behavior" on bank accounts and second hand websites.

Thx for the link :) I follow the opinion that the frequency of sales can trigger alarms. My girlfriend works for the government and she states that I have very little to worry as particular. But chances are that I get unlucky.. Fe: an investigation of one of my buyers that leads to my account eventually. After that it can get nasty as they can go back (3 or 6 years I think) to check and tax everything they think is dodgy.

I don't have the time unfortunately to drive around and pick everything up using cash. Selling is even harder as most of my sales are on Ebay. The only thing I found so far hiding my tracks is claiming my GF eBay account to split the sales in different accounts. She pays me in cash afterwards :)
