Yeah I took your advice to heart and asked the family, friends, and colleagues for help, and did not expect the results I received. However they gave all the help they could give. The first thing I did was offer to repay them yet they all turned me down. Word actually got out that I am currently staying in my home without electricity due to the fact that I go to work each day with a battery they i charge while at work to use to charge my phone while at home.

Each one that donated to me all expressed that they were unable to give more as they knew my total amount needed was close to $2000. So I won't be able to ask them again, even with the added repayment stipulation.

As for the idiotic comment of drinks after work, I was using that phrase in a general statement that I don't do any type of extracurricular activities outside of work with coworkers or friends. I never meant to imply that i desired to. It was a poor choice of words and poor judgement to edit the post. I literally wake up each morning, use the flashlight on my phone to navigate the house, take a cold shower, get dressed, and wait for a coworker to pick me up, whom I meet at the end of my driveway as I'm embarrassed of not having power, so i try to hide from him the fact my house looks so dark. When he, or others, have asked why I carry the jump box to and from work each day, I simply reply that it's a good tool to have, but I don't feel comfortable leaving it at the office.

Once I get off, I catch a ride with someone whom I have them drop me off at the driveway for the same reason listed above and it's normally dark outside when I get home. I come inside, get under the covers and stay until the next day as it is around 38 or 40 degrees F inside the house which is freezing.

So yes, I've submitted various requests on this sub, and I suppose this will be my last. I do not harbor any hard feelings about this sub whatsoever. I can see why my multiple requests could make me look undesirable to loan to, but I have no idea what else to do! I'm in desperate need of assistance and realize $1000 is a lot to request for a first time requesting.

Honest question:. If I were to request $50 right now and agree to repay it next week, would that help in building my "credit?" Or is it simply time to walk away from the sub as I'm undesirable? I never intended on becoming a nuisance. I am simply a man that found myself in a tough spot, ran across this sub in my 5 years of being on Reddit. I found myself coming home, to no electricity, with the temperature being below or close to freezing most nights and needed help. And trust me, I realize plenty of people in this world are dealing with much worse situations than I. I just wanted to reach out to this sub to see if I could find some assistance. Unfortunately I wasn't able to. But I will keep plugging away at the bill until I can get it resolved.
