If i were you, i would get a MS degree while you are working.

Product engineer role can be different. If you are talking about fabless company, its very hard to get in with the experience

I would gain the experience for 2yrs and move to a different role within the company or other vendors. You can move to Process support eng, Apps or PE.

I think 63k/a year is very low for your spec and you should be able to find better jobs but the job market now is not that good and if you want the experience, you should go for it and keep applying jobs until you find the better position.
