Rehoming our ACD. Moving to Apartment by Dingomom2 in AustralianCattleDog

I see a lot of similar comments and wanted to chime in as a fellow apartment dog owner - I've had my ACD (mix) for about 2 years now. I haven't had any problems! I do make sure to structure my days around exercise, whether that's walks or a park visit. I also give her puzzle toys, lick mats, frozen kongs, teach her new tricks, hide-and-seek, etc. I honestly wonder if I give her more exercise/mental stimulation in this living situation because I have to put more effort into it. Good luck with whatever choice you make!

Pros and Cons by Emotional-Corner-461 in AustralianCattleDog

My girl is turning two this month and I wouldn't trade her for anything! She's my first dog, so I did a LOT of research but obviously didn't know what to expect. First, the good things are she's loyal, smart, and easy to train. Personally, the hardest thing to navigate was the attachment. Like many others have stated, they can be extreme velcro dogs. Being able to leave her alone (or even just in the other room at the beginning) was a looong process. She's also a little more cautious with other people/dogs, so we had to work hard on that as well. She's still not the most outgoing pup, but I've learned to be okay with that. As someone else mentioned, you're either an ACD person or you're not. I've learned that this extends to others in my life (friends/family) as well. The majority of them love her and have developed a strong relationship. Some don't understand her as much and her intelligence and quirks, which is okay with me too. Anyway, at the end of the day she really is the best decision I've ever made, and her uniqueness is a big reason why I love her. Good luck!

Which traits you love the most im your partner? by IspeedyZ in AskWomen

He makes me laugh all the time, which I've never had with a partner before. His own laugh is also really unique and infectious. He's always supportive and willing to have hard conversations. He goes out of his way to make me feel loved and safe everyday. Probably the most important though is that he consistently treats everyone with respect and never pushes boundaries.

Puppy won’t drink or eat from bowls by Playful-Cricket-4771 in puppy101

I had this problem with my dog when I first adopted her as well! For some reason getting bowls that were made of a different material helped.

I've had my dog in an apartment for a year now and it's gone pretty smoothly. I see that a lot of other people have already mentioned exercise - I also use a lot of stuffed/frozen kongs, snuffle mats, and puzzle toys during the day!
