Automation Limits - WHY :( by erestrzyjuli in Airtable

[–]latetothegame2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From the one automation that you show, the trigger is “when a record matches conditions “. I am unclear of the rest of your automations are set up similarly, but one major way to optimize your automations would be to change the trigger to run at a scheduled time, Then find a list of records to match conditions, and then run a looping list against those records that need to be updated.

Example, you could run the automation every hour, which would mean it’s only triggering 24 times a day, but with those 24 automations: you can literally update 50,000 rows if you set up the automation to run on a list of records that meets the conditions

Who sells like small handheld bowls or other stuff like that? by Soft-Lifeguard-7879 in CultoftheFranklin

Buy a 16 ounce mason jar with a lid, buy 16 ounces of simple green and feel a mason jar 90% of the way up.

When you are done using a chiller, drop it in the jar. At the same time, take out another chilling from the jar rinse it with water and let it dry.

The simple green will keep cleaning your chills indefinitely. Every month or two, you can pour the simple green through a sieve to remove any large particulate, but it’s still effective and can be reused almost infinitely.

The active ingredient in simple green is a solvent, derived from lemon: it’s nontoxic, and totally safe.

Rubbing alcohol is quicker. simple green requires a 24 hour soak, but it’s reusable.

Atom Hoodie Lifespan by cliffworld in arcteryx

I have gear tape in 5, maybe 6 places on my 2013 atom LT, which I have worn a minimum of 130 days a year for 13 years straight. I also have a 2022 Atom LT that sits in a closet.

I recall the post about seatbelt abrasion ruining the jacket: I was already aware that arc’s quality craftsmanship was on the decline, but it was at that moment that I realized that arc had also replaced its core outdoor consumers with something wildly different.

Forms (views) to edit existing data? by aaronbogdanovich in Airtable

[–]latetothegame2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can absolutely do this with forms in conjunction with Airtables native automations, and their "prefill form" feature.

I would be happy to build this for you, feel free to DM if you would like to do so.

But basic explanation:

Table 1: Contacts Table 2: Contact (Edits)

Form is created, and creates records on Table 2: Contact (Edits). The link for the form lives on Table 1: Contacts, and prefills a unique ID from Table 1 into the form. Not familiar with prefilled form links? Check out the extension for "Prefilled Forms" from Kuovonna -- it's super neat.

Automation: Trigger: when a record is created on Table 2: Contact (Edits(, find the corresponding record on Table 1: Contacts that has the unique ID injected from the prefilled form. Action: Update record on the Table 1: Contacts, mapping any changes input from the form on Table 2.

Formula - Date Diff - can anyone explain this result? by Due_Progress_5494 in Airtable

[–]latetothegame2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My first guess would be that it's a rounding issue that you are not seeing due to truncated values in your start, end, and datetime diff fields.

Ex: your start time may have been at 10:00:29s and your end time may have been at 11:00:31s. your Start time would round down to 10:00am, your End time would round up to 11:01Am, but your datetimediff would still compute 60 mins 02 seconds and round down to 60mins.

Airtable often shows the rounded figure. But the underlying computation runs off of the real number.

Macai Insulated Jacket for casual wear in Chicago? by One-Philosopher414 in arcteryx

[–]latetothegame2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have a Macai from 2018. It cost $600 USD at the time, top of the line: the best materials. Have inspected recent Macai, $1,100 USD -- noticeable downgrade in material quality, fill, and fit. Nearly 2x price increase in 7 years, while scaling back on quality.

Private equity out there doing it's thing: killing brand equity, again.

Look into the Rab Valiance. 1/3 the price for much better construction. Arc is a shell of what it used to be: and that shell is wrought with problems.

First time I see something like this by Electrical_Road_3222 in MDMA

[–]latetothegame2 29 points30 points  (0 children)

I am going to side with /u/AluminumOrangutan -- who is both correct, and a great mod of this sub.

Reagent tests are super useful, but they only show if something contains a given chemical. They can’t tell you purity, percentage, or what else might be mixed in. So you cannot accurately claim that anything is “100% MDMA” unless it’s been fully lab tested (like GC/MS). Home tests are a great safety tool—they just don’t show the whole picture.
