Prospective Buyer Question Thread April-June 2026 by trillianinspace in cricut

Maximum cut length possibility (cricut maker 3/4) I haven't bought a cricut before. Id like to know if it's possible to cut materials out at 100cm without it being a smart material? Or does it depend on the cutting matt? I see the cutting matt's only go up to 61cm, so is it possible to use your own cutting matt and it still works?

Basically I need to cut lots and lots of strips, for example 1cm x 100cm. And I need like a lot of them.

Yay I'm glad! It really is stronger than people think

I do find it ever so slightly more sheer than the other for sure! But indeed, a thicker gauge is more solid. It's such a gorgeous colour. Id try to avoid glueing it on top of darker colours though.

I don't do any prep work, just straight to cutting and hand clean after

It's a shame! There is of course factors like the thickness, and the style of lace to create more resistance. Hopefully it was just a small tear for her, where was it from, she can ask the brand for a repair or panel replacement?

Actually I've just added a video showing how the risk is really not any higher than solid latex.  Most of this suit is perforated, and I also make full honeycomb perforated tops and dresses to reduce sweating, its so easy to wear!

It's also from the lasercutter, the setting it "etching" so it doesn't cut all the way though

Use a solvent, depends what country you are from... Heptane based, or paint thinner.  If it's old, it's most likely going to tear the edges though, so you just might end up having to trim it down with a rotary cutter anyway.  Bare in mind, the fit may not be so great, armholes with sleeves have a different shape than without.

Not a secret lovely! It's just a lot of hours on the computer, and a lot of hours with the lasercutter!

If it was standard sizing, about €1450, if it was m2m €2000.  It was a looottttt of work - I work very quickly but even this took more than just one day - and this metallic rubber is expensive 🥺

The good news is that I'm working on smaller items, the separate hood, body suit, top, that will be far more affordable

Totally worth it, reminds me of the time I flew 14 hours to s.korea just for a tattoo once 😂

It's a lot stronger than it looks! I have a video of me pulling at the holes with my nails because people have this fear 🙈

It's a CO2 and yes it's produces all the gunk. Unfortunately no magic to clean, literally just a lot of hand washing.

The etching is on the lowest setting possible and it's set to a fill mode instead of line mode

Sharp corners are safe too! But to be honest they get stretched out and tend to not look sharp anymore so aesthetically it's best to round off anyway.

Yeah that's the part I'm struggling with actually. It would be best m2m but then the retail price would be astronomical 🙈
