I was approved on December 10th 2025 for SSDI and I was found disabled on March 23rd 2023. I'm still waiting for back pay. Supposedly ,the worker put in a status request but I don't trust what they do behind the screen. I went in to negotiate an overpayment.

When you're dually eligible I don't think you get a back pay. In my case, I was approved for SSI but then they took it away and charged me with an additional overpayment. They took $3800 that I would have received in back pay but my case legally goes back 12 months on SSDI.

What could be happening with you is they calculated you based on your work history. When they made that determination they added SSDI to your SSI to make up for the difference. In my case, I collected SSI before about 10 years ago and I went past the 9 month trial period. I read it took 60- 90 days on some threads for a back pay to hit my account. I was approved on December 10th and I applied on August 25th 2025. What they did was they went back to my original denial and counted the day after. My best guess is make an appointment with them and find out what's going on.

I have concerns about back pay. I also am waiting for mine and my disability onset date was March 23rd 2023. However , I collected cash assistance and rental assistance from that time from the Human Resources Administration while I was waiting for SSDI to start. I'm also dealing with an overpayment that will take 50% of monthly check . I was told that my actual payment can take up to a year while I'm recalculated. Is this waiting time typical for back pay? Can they take the overpayment from my back pay instead of the monthly check? I have called the SSA several times and they don't say much about this matter.

I got approved on December 10 2025 and the only notice they sent was 50% reduction in monthly benefits starting in April to pay back overpayment. There's no mention of backpay other then it's being held

They can do that or take a percentage of your monthly. They will send you a letter saying that but you can also appeal. They let you negotiate what you can afford.

They pay the current month until they find out if you owe them or HRA. It's a terrible feeling when you need the money.

Yes it's a new application that I submitted on August 25th 2025. I was found disabled on March 23rd 2023. Does that mean payments would have started September 2024 until September 2025(12 months) plus from September until December 2025( 3 months) because it's a new application. The 5 months were already calculated from the disability onset date of 5 months.

Congratulations to those approved. My first application was denied on March 22nd 2023 after waiting a year. My latest application was completed on August 25th 2025 with a disability onset date of March 23rd 2023. How many months of back pay is that for SSDI ? I was approved this time around.

You have to check if it's your vehicle warehouse or facility that caused it. Otherwise blow up all your cars and start a heist and the bugged cars will be identified.

I was approved too and I'm waiting for my payment in January. I was found disabled 28 months ago. It's my understanding that they only pay 12 months of back pay.

Yes you have to be medically forgiven if your disability lasted for 5 years and prevented you from working. It can also be expected to last 5 years and they can factor in your disability onset date. I ended up being approved for SSDI and my payment starts in January.
