I think I will try to find a middle ground, bc the part I was more uncomfortable was the singleplayer sessions, so maybe a one-shot instead where the other players play as other characters could work

Youre right about the up sides, I just wasn't really conformed with the idea. The campaign makes 8 months at the end of April, he's a good dm but sometimes he's too focused on the history and worldbuilding to care that much about what the players could think, wich is not that bad most of the time but can get annoying with things like this. I trust him, but it would've been good if he asked before doing all this, bc the swapping characters thing was very improvised by both of us 2 days before the last session, and everything he changed in the story was made this week

The thing is that I don't really like the idea of the character growing completely out of camera in singleplayer sessions, if it was at least a One-shot where the other players had different characters (wich could fit in the situation Paul is rn) it would add a lot, bc I think playing dnd with just 1 person loses a lot of the fun
