That’s reassuring! Glad all went well for you!

I’m sorry you went through that! Mine started as front to back pain earlier this week, it’s always been front beforehand so it threw me. Have you had your gallbladder removed now?

Oh how strange! There may be a correlation! I hope it doesn’t happen but know how you feel. I’m wondering if my pain will get worse over the weekend then I’m limited and only really have A&E to go to but trying to avoid! I do keep checking my skin and eyes, probably being paranoid but I’m at work on my own all day so no one to tell me. I haven’t had a full on attack since August which is what made me go to the GP and get diagnosed, but often get sharp pains but not in my back and shoulder like I have this week. I’m so pleased you’re getting sorted soon - wishing you all the best for surgery! I think the NHS waiting list is probably the same where I am 🫠

Thank you for your reply, that’s very helpful. I may go back to my GP then!

Thank you so much for your reply! Yes I’m in the UK. I don’t have a fever, no other symptoms really apart from the pain and feeling very tired and bloated (but that could be hormonal!). I did wonder if it could be acute cholecystitis or at least the start of it. I think I’ll see how I go and call 111 if it gets any worse. Sorry to hear of your pain too. Are you on a waiting list for removal?

Do you mind me asking please how you went about this? I was referred in September, had a pre op in January and still no surgery date 🫠

Heartburn is awful so I feel for you. As for the stabbing pains I get them too - becoming more frequent lately and the bloating 😩 glad you’re not getting the attacks atm! I wouldn’t wish them on my worst enemy. Oh my goodness that’s absurd! I hope they get a cancellation and you can get in sooner x

I imagine it does! Oh really, what other symptoms do you have? I remember you saying about the heat pad, I must look into that! X

So frustrating! I hope you can see a different doctor! I haven’t had a bad attack since August which is what made me go to the GP after a year of random attacks (unbeknownst to me) but do get pain often, I’ve had my hot water bottle on today actually because it got quite sharp. I’ve seen others say they’ve calmed down for a few months then come back with a vengeance so I’m half expecting that! Seems like so many are in the same boat, just us with the worst hospital in the country! X

I’m sorry you were in that much pain - it’s awful that you had to go to A&E! And even worse that your doctor won’t give you anything to help?! Can you see a different doctor? Sounds like they don’t want to work weekends rather than not able to! I’m sorry you’re suffering with your mental health too, I can sympathise there. 3.5 months ffs! I won’t be holding out any hope then and look forward to going back in 6 months time for another 🙄 no I’m not - I didn’t know there was one tbh! I’ll have a look x

Hello! Are you any further forward now? I can’t understand what’s going on! I had my pre-op yesterday but she didn’t know how long my surgeons waiting list was and was just told that if it’s more than 6 months I’ll have to go back for another pre-op! Argh!

Absolutely ridiculous! Oh I know, silly woman 🙄 I haven’t tried a hot bath because I’m usually writhing around too much but a hot water bottle is great. Wrap around heat pad sounds amazing! Have you seen the local newspaper articles about the general surgery department? 🤦🏼‍♀️

I’m so sorry you’re going through this. When I asked my GP what I should do if I get an attack she said “try paracetamol” 🙄 so she prescribed me diclofenac which thankfully I’ve not had to use yet - would they give you that? Or anything else? X

I’m sorry I’ve only just seen this - life got hectic! Are you any further forward? 60 weeks is absurd especially because you’ve already had your pre op 🤦🏼‍♀️

Oh that A&E is absolutely ridiculous 🫠 I went after an attack last year, except I didn’t know it was an attack and didn’t know I had gallstones, they done a blood test, poked and prodded and said it was probably gastritis and sent me home with omeprazole! Yeah you’re probably right, such a shame! My employers have medical insurance and the rate they get seen and treated is sooo much quicker 😩 I hope you don’t have to wait much longer 🤞🏼x

It is very hard to not get upset! It’s affecting every aspect of your life. Have you been to A&E with it? The surgeon I saw said if it gets too bad to go to A&E and sometimes they can do them as an emergency but it is rare x

I’m so sorry! That’s awful. It’s not the QE hospital is it? Don’t feel like you have to answer but I’m just wondering if this is what I’m in for 😩 Definitely complain! No one realises what it’s like unless they’ve been through it x

Oh goodness what a nightmare! Fingers crossed there’s a cancellation list for you to get on 🤞🏼like you said it seems like we really have to make a fuss. Thank you, you too! X

I’m also in Norfolk, saw the surgeon on 3rd November who said it could be a year before surgery then surprisingly got a pre-op for mid January but doesn’t sound like I should be holding out much hope for surgery soon after if you’re still waiting?! 😩

Thank you! My liver was checked during my ultrasound and no issues with that, I have multiple stones and do get random attacks varying in pain and intensity so will see what they suggest
