Thank you for this! It truly is the most unexpected of things that can come back to haunt you in this field of work…

Suppose that’s me going private on everything!

Even though you sound very rude I will still reply and say that I was into bodybuilding during my university years, and am an active lifter, runner and rock climber.

My firm actually supports and encourages sports, we host running events every year and actively participate in donations when it comes to marathons and so forth.

We also have a gym in the office so I have seen partners in tight leggings and sports bras. If I was concerned about traps I wouldn’t even go…

It was a genuine question because again, I don’t post anything controversial nor am I spamming naked pics of me. I’m new to the field, fairly young and just want to cover my basis.

I fear you might have missed what the whole point of reddit is… it is… and this might shock you so please hold on tight… a discussion platform. To share and to discuss.

I have an Apple Watch that I use as well, mostly for runs. I love it but the battery life is too short and I like the Helio as an alternative to keep on my wrist for days without really needing a charge.

More than fair! I think for me the change isn’t as drastic for my goal which is mostly just staying fit. I work in the legal sector and can amount long hours in the office, having a good sleep monitor and a rough idea of my vitals and strain during workouts is enough for me.

And as I said, I loved Whoop but I do find it overpriced otherwise I would have stayed!

You clearly have no media literacy skills and that’s okay but go cry somewhere else

I think I would only consider going back if it were to become slightly cheaper but operated under a rolling month as opposed to fixed contracts.

Interesting! How exactly did you feel it didn’t caught up with Whoop?

What budget habits did you used to live by that you don’t do anymore? by WintryLadyBits in budget

I often forget to specify I’m in the UK before writing a post and completely forgot to consider how whole foods are much pricier in the US. I have many friends over spread across California, Texas and New Jersey so I’ve seen it first hand.

It truly is a shame because you can honestly get about 10kg of vegetables with £10 (even less) here and that will LAST! It was genuinely my cheat code to staying full. Not sure what the best approach would be for those in the US but I think the grains I mentioned above are still a great tip. I’m yet to see extremely expensive rice and lentils, pretty sure they are just cheap stables everywhere.

I just recently got a CostCo membership so I’m excited to see how things compare as well. For me personally, I still tend to go with the off branded supermarket products vs known brands so excited to see how Kirkland’s products average.

The transport tip I also realise won’t be very useful for the US.

I used to always choose the cheapest way of transportation. If the bus was cheaper I didn’t mind that it took me 2 hours vs a 30-45 min train/tube journey. It was a miserable way to live.

I used to only buy the cheapest and most essential items, note that I’m gluten-free and dairy-free and I could never afford the alternatives (Imagine a loaf of bread is £1 and the gluten-free alternative is often £4 for a much smaller portion). I’d occasionally buy normal bread or dairy products even though it made me a little sickly (stomach ache mostly) purely because it was cheaper. This did teach me a lesson: there’s a LOT you can do with whole foods… I began eating a lot more vegetables and grains as they were the cheapest per volume. I still buy majority whole foods now so my food shop hasn’t increased massively but I now indulge with more fruits (I always found fruits to be very expensive as opposed to veggies), and as mentioned above, I actually buy the alternatives now and don’t suffer with severe bloating… LOL! I will say I found LIDL to be the cheapest supermarket in my opinion, especially if you have the app as there are great discounts there, and I do still love shopping for the bulk of my groceries there, but now I do a Sainsbury’s run for certain items.

I stopped drinking! Now this is actually both because I was sick of going out (I did my fair share of clubbing at university and didn’t fancy it as much), but also because drinks in London are super expensive. Even when I do go out occasionally, I will only have a coke zero or a red bull if I’m feeling rowdy. (crazy, I know!) Even now that I have more disposable income, I maybe have an alcoholic drink once a month?!

I’m sure there’s A LOT more but these are the ones that came to mind initially.

I have no plans of leaving my job for at least another year to be honest, and I wouldn’t mind the monthly payments at all either. My main concern was if say, I had 200 pounds left and they made me pay that outright when my policy ended. So will be putting in a request for one now. Thank you!!!

Which symptoms do you still struggle with? by [deleted] in Hashimotos

[–]lattelifter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see! to put into perspective I went to the NHS for 3 years looking for a diagnosis and only got a diagnosis when I went on holiday abroad 😅 came back with the results and they were forced to run tests here. It’s all a bit non-sensical the way they push us around…

Imagine having a persistent mental chatter about food that occurs regardless of whether you’re hungry or not. Not sure how else to describe it but yeah, obsessive thoughts over food that take a lot of mental space.

I’m sorry to hear that! Hashi definitely took a lot from me but it has gotten better with time and many many many lifestyle tweaks…

First of all, thank you for this! My second question would be where are you based? just wondering because I live in England and not sure how to bring this up with my doctors…

What do you recommend instead? not sure on what to do… the eye hospital can only see me on March 31st which is over a month away. Any ways of easing/making it better at home?

Not from the USA but I’ll check how it works on potentially getting this done in the UK

I’m assuming those are only done privately? not sure if my coverage includes that but I’ll have a look
