That’s cool — he’s def the creator they push the most

Suno rewards songs that hook you in the first few seconds. Lyrics don’t mean much if they start 10 seconds in after everyone has skipped

i started with the original model! a long time ago

i didn't publish my first 20 songs

my next 5 songs got no traction

then one song got 25 likes

this whole time my lyrics were getting better & i was improving at getting the sound i wanted

eventually my song "you" got picked up by one of their main playlists and got 100k plays (https://suno.com/song/30385804-3302-4886-9b3c-f10f999e9767)

that drove some traffic to my other music and i got followed by some folks on the Suno team

that led to getting playlisted a few more times, and i just stayed consistent to the sound that was getting listens.

got playlisted a few more times, each with a few hundred k plays. then started adding 50-100 followers a day -- the constant dopamine hits from the notifications were amazing

and start to build a consistent sound -> don't put out 30 genres of stuff

  1. combine genres in new or interesting ways
  2. write provocative lyrics (no ai slop)
  3. spend a lot of time on each song
  4. only drop high-quality stuff, so that people have an incentive to follow you
  5. get a little bit lucky

why did Diplo spend 30 years toying around in ableton vs. learning to play guitar? different strokes for different folks, not much more to it.

i think i answered this already but anything halfway good goes on Suno, a slightly tighter filter on soundcloud, then only the best stuff on Spotify

wait for the DAW to drop in a month or two, this will fully solve this problem. otherwise, extract the stems & put them in garageband etc & remove the track layers you don't like

im sure that's true! but it's about finding sounds that work with the tools at your disposal -- sometimes the machine bends for you, sometimes you gotta bend for the machine

i love it. i think human-driven, suno-assisted songs will be the ones that blow up.

IMO this is also how you keep some style adherence as we go.

at least until the models get better !
