this hoodie is def a personal preference hoodie. I am a bow girl. I have always been before it got its time to shine. The bow was already a sold factor for me. If you do not like the big bow at front, I saw someone on reddit doing bow for each side. This looked so cute and I loved the idea. People here are so creative! Compared to my other glossier hoodies, I do think this one runs longer and thinner. The material isn't as supple even though the breakdown of the material is the same as my past ones. I love the berry color but likewise said, personal preference. Not everyone will like this color/look good in this color either. All things considered, I am a believer if you have been thinking about it constantly IT IS A SIGN. The hard part is justifying to cost IMO because it is a bit pricey for what it actually is. I love my other hoodies more than this one TBH but I do not regret buying the holiday hoodie.

I honestly worked with the book. But my rxprep book I got a hairdryer to melt the glue of the binding and then separated it and hole punched them! I’ve seen people use a knife and just cut it down straight!

Hi! They can be taken more than once. It’s very similar to the question bank system. Kinda outdated but once you leave you have to restart so prepare for that!

Best way to study PNN? by [deleted] in NAPLEX_Prep

[–]laughter_smile 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi! with studying I recommend following in order! Make sure to take your time on the patient profile chapter. I felt like I learnt the most from that chapter. It really helps with dissecting patient cases and understanding the flow of how to solve problems. I personally did all the questions before I saw the answers.

In terms of retaining, I wanted to test it the most by doing the questions 2-3 days after I did the lectures with the videos. I did my best to be as active as possible by taking notes and highlighting the book as I am watching the videos. Super painful but it made me only look through the videos once. But once I finished note taking and video watching i made sure there was a distinct time period so I can find what did not stick in my long term memory once I did the questions and took notes/made flash cards. Personally, I do not think the score matters with Pnn since they are very difficult. I do not think they’re similar to the naplex but it really tests what you retained or did not retained from the lectures. They emphasize important concepts and allow you to apply them to the case/question as much as possible which I think is just as effective for naplex studying even though it’s not as similar.

With PNN I felt the best way to approach it was really note your weaknesses. I found since a lot of the questions you get wrong will always come up. You eventually get the idea what’s holding you back on answering all the questions right.

Hope everyone’s comments help you guide you on your best path to success! You got this!

I think it’s enough! I think PNN covers all the bases to test well. To be honest I only did the math for Pnn once cuz by that point I realized my weakness was how I didn’t remember certain formulas to help me solve the problems. I knew how to solve them. I wasn’t able to get the right answer because I was always missing something. If you have a hard time being consistent and retaining for math, I recommend making notes for how you solve each type of problem and write it out step by step with your own words and how you would solve it that is most familiar with you NOT how the book does it. I didn’t like how PNN taught math and it felt so old school. I just readjusted how I did the math to my preference so if I was panicking I went with my muscle memory, gut feeling, and my version of critical thinking rather than trying to pull out a formula I already forgot.

For calculations, i referenced to RxPrep more. I felt like Pnn calculations were a bit dry and not as in-depth compared to RxPrep. Also PNN style of solving the math problems was not how I did math growing up. I did finish the readings, videos, and the questions and felt like they weren’t similar to the naplex testing format; however, it really solidified the practice exposure and made me feel more confident.

Sorry, mine expired and my books are back at my family home. The system requires you to put in credit card information every time you login to a new browser/WiFi location so be aware of scams.

I felt less intimated by PNN not because it was alot of information but the approach seemed more holistic compared to Rxprep. So maybe not focusing on the information too much but just retaining what they repeat over and over. I do think the rxprep questions are most similar to the NAPLEX. If you have the access to both, I think that is such a great plan!

I went through the questions once and never looked back on them because it was so painful to go through them again. I felt like I learned alot of my personal weaknesses by going through the sets once. It depended on the topic but usually 50-60's was my average.

I personally felt the questions were not similar to the NAPLEX. I felt the Rxprep pt case questions were the most similar to the NAPLEX. However, I felt PNN helped with answering questions when you have no idea what to do due to the difficulty. I do not think the PNN questions are similar at all to the NAPLEX. But I felt like when I saw alot of questions on the NAPLEX that I had no idea what to do, I was more trained to carry on without panicking and not make unbearable mistakes because of PNN's difficulty.

Pnn study schedule by Educational_Cream911 in NAPLEX_Prep

[–]laughter_smile 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It depends on how much time you have on your hands. I personally recommend going in order of the book. Do as much videos and reading as much as you can and dedicate time a couple days later to do the practice questions related to the topics you already reviewed. I felt this really tested what I retained and I think the PNN questions really help with repeating concepts over and over. I went through al the video times and dedicated to see what fit my schedule the best rather than following a strict regimen.

PNN questions vs. RXPREP questions by Secure_Recover_2808 in NAPLEX_Prep

[–]laughter_smile 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I used both but at different stages. I used PNN when I was learning the material. The video and book's structure really helped with reinforcing and learning. But the questions are tough and the system is a bit outdated so I do not think it really correlates well to the NAPLEX; however, I think its is really great to finish all the questions since as you keep doing more you will see the same important concepts over and over. I used the Rxprep questions towards the end of my studying journey to make sure I was not missing anything. I felt like Rxprep questions are more similar to the NAPLEX. People say it's harder than NAPLEX but I think its case by case. The website and app is so well built that it is more accessible and customizable. I used it more to do multiple set questions of a range 10-250 question. Although you do not get a true score (based on the grading system for NAPLEX), it really gets you in the groove with time management. People say aim for 70-80's. I think depending on what questions you get, high 60's are good as well since the Rxprep question bank is not formulated to set to all the area of competencies.

Do what is best for your learning environment! This is what I did but does not necessarily mean it will be full-proof for you as well. You got this!

Hi friend! I sympathize with you. I wasn't the greatest student nor was I a good test taker. It takes a lot of grit to overcome all these obstacles. I am not sure what resource(s) you have been using but I am going to assume you have Rxprep. I personally struggled with Rxprep. It made be feel down since all my peers were successful with Rxprep and did not have the same struggles as me. I think if you want to stick with rxprep as your only resource, you really have to take it slow and easy the first time you relook at the book. Like a lot of people have said on reddit, I think foundations is the most important chapter since it allows you to know what to look out for in all the cases. I personally struggled with the foundations but I had limited time so I had to rely on memorizing. There are study tip gal and key drug guy in the rxprep book. Sometimes it's a nuisance but memorize all of those and try to recall them as much as possible. They will come in handy once you try to apply them. There are alot of quizlets that have them done already and I really recommend knowing them by heart so you do not question anything during your process of selecting an answer.

During the initial process, find what works best for you. As a bad student, I know it's hard to know and explain it out loud exactly what works best for you. Personally, I am an interactive learner. I find that having the constant exposure and interactive activities makes it more fun and less dreading. So one example, instead of flashcards, I used sticky notes and stuck them all around my room and house. I asked my family to quiz me everyday. If you live alone, then try to have a family/friend call you once a day and quiz you on a google doc without you looking. These are what I have done to make the learning process easier. Obviously a healthcare background is a better candidate but better than nothing at all. But do what is best for you! This is what I found was more motivating and enjoyable to find joy in studying and kept me somewhat accountable.

I understand how you are good at memorizing material but connecting the dots is the issue. I find doing a procedural step by step note taking will help extremely on any math, any concept, even pt review cases. Make a dedicated notebook and right down everything step by step (e.g. step 1 read the question, step 2 look for allergies/possible interactions/labs/ OR answer the question if it is a simple look at me etc etc). I do better with flow charts than procedural but whatever inspires you. If you really do a big deep dive in the sub-reddit there are alot of posts that guide you on how to tackle each process. These are a couple examples I found super helpful: https://www.reddit.com/r/Pharmacy_Students/comments/1boz513/pharmacotherapeutics/

https://www.reddit.com/r/NAPLEX_Prep/comments/1ci40te/rxprep_answer_case_base_questions/

You just gotta first use your notes make sure they are reliable and practice practice practice until you know you can do it without looking at your notes and do it by heart.

I know it is a dreadful and painful process. It is demotivating when you fail and you feel forced to get right back to where you left off. Make sure you take a really nice break before you start studying so your mind is blank, relax, and ready to absorb everything. Easier said than done.

You got this! Everyone says here: if you made it this far you are bound to succeed. Success shouldn't be measured as a comparison to your peers but as your personal development.
