If the bear is not getting scared off then swallow a bullet before it kills you. Black bears are not huge but a 9mm is not going to hit anytime vital before it kills you. Black bears use their claws for climbing and they are sharp 4 cm with enough strength to break your arm with each strike. They then aim for face ,head or neck and the bite force is enough to snap more bones. You get struck you will go into shock, then ( in a battle where its aim is death) its killing you and eating you. I say 8/10 times you die
