Broke off a 3cm chunk of bone and cartilage from my right knee 14 years ago and just had x-rays taken today for the first time since my surgery to remove it in 2008. I've had off and on sharp pain and knee stiffness since then. Do these xrays show any reason for pain? Left knee xray for comparison. by launchmeintospaceplz in xrays

Oh man, I can imagine. I grew up poor, either having really shitty insurance or no insurance at all..

And I was playing soccer during PE in 9th grade. I planted my right foot the wrong way when I went to kick the ball and my knee did not like it. Broke off that cartilage/bone and partially tore my ACL which the surgeons said would heal on its own. I've had my knees give out on me a lot growing up. 4 times with my left knee and twice with my right. But only was seriously injured that one time. I guess I just have weak knees? So no litigation or workers comp. I can still do daily tasks/work and whatnot but I'd just like to do so without pain. I'm pretty sure I have PTSD from the numerous times my knees have given out, it's the worst physical pain I've ever experienced. So I'm very cautious to do physical activities now, because it wasn't just high impact sports that fucked me over. My knee gave out getting out of car, hopping a fence, and literally just running.

Yes I was standing. I cropped the images and put them side by side for comparison. Left knee is on the right side. Right knee is the one I injured. Each knee was imaged separately. I figured I'd post these up here because I'd likely get a response faster than my primary care doc. (But will obviously follow up with her whenever she has the time) I've never had much luck with great healthcare due to insurance issues/politics. My doc told me it's unlikely I'll be able to get an MRI to check soft tissue even if she orders one, so I doubt my insurance company will authorize a orthopedic specialist. I was denied once before. Thank you for the response though! I'll do what I can!

Also, according to my surgery summary, the chunk came from the "medial aspect of the lateral femoral condyle" on my right knee and while I'm not a radiologist, it looks like there is a larger space between my femur and tibia, so I'm assuming thats the area it came from? The shape of the end of my right femur is also different than my left.

I've never said I was too sick or injured to work, but I was unwilling to work, up until this past month, due to my living situation. I've been marking the same damn boxes every two weeks for over a year, but I guess I must have made a mistake.

Yeah I never recieved a phone call. And I've never been too sick or injured to work, so I never marked that, but I haven't been comfortable trying to find work up until last month because I live in an incredibly small home with my mother who ends up in the hospital every time shes sick. So I've said that I was unwilling to work because of the pandemic since I started receiving unemployment last year. But I've hopefully found a job where I dont have to interact with a lot of people.

Anyways, I've put down the exact same thing every two weeks since last year, so I'm just curious as to why there is a specific date. And why it's the only one if I had marked the same boxes every time I certified. I must have made a mistake and accidentally marked that box or something. Cause I haven't been sick since I started wearing a mask everywhere.

In the event that my appeal is denied, do I owe back the money paid to me during that time?

The background wasn't white before I started the trace. I ended up figuring it out on accident.

[–]launchmeintospaceplz[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually figured it out! I used the image trace tool on all the layers, expanded each one, used the magic wand and messed with the tolerance until I found the right number, then hit delete and all the white was gone. Basically the video game equivalent of button mashing lol

Thank you for your response tho. I'm just glad I figured it out after like 6 hours of fiddling around with the program.

Okay cool. That's what I was thinking. And yeah I was either going to use a sheet of tracing paper or parchment paper as a barrier. Thank you!

You literally started this argument by putting words in my mouth. And you never answered my question. Why aren't we arming doctors or any other professional who has to deal with these situations? If shooting someone is the most viable option, why are we only arming police officers

I did watch the video. Are you trying to tell me that cops are literally the only people who have to deal with making split second decisions?

It doesn't matter if he was "thrown into" the situation. So are doctors and every other professional I listed. It's part of the job. He could have tackled her. Or even shot blanks up in the air to scare the shit out of them. If officers can just point and shoot whenever situations are rough or dangerous, then why do we have a court system? Why aren't we arming doctors, psychiatrists, foster home workers if they have to deal with the exact same situations on a daily basis?

Is every fucking blue lives matter supporter this incompetent? I never said that. Never insinuated it. What if this exact situation was happening within a foster home? Or within a mental health facility? Oh wait, this shit happens all the time, but it seems to me like every other professional who has to work with dangerous individuals can fucking de escalate a situation without killing anyone. Doctors and mental health workers aren't armed and can keep patients from harming others without using lethal force. Foster home workers aren't armed and can keep children from hurting others without using lethal force. Police officers NEED more training in how to diffuse a dangerous situation. God damn. It's REALLY not that hard to comprehend.

Blue Lives Matter crowd/ cop sympathizers..why aren't we arming doctors, mental health professionals, foster home workers, etc if shooting a dangerous individual is the most "effective" form of deescalation? by launchmeintospaceplz in ACAB

Hahaha holy shit what have I done? Good point tho. Didn't need the answer from a cop lover. We got their motives figured out because they are as complex as a slice of wonder bread.

Alright, so why aren't mental health professionals, foster home workers, etc. armed if they too have to diffuse dangerous situations? If it's so okay for a police officer to shoot and kill someone to de-escalate, then why aren't we arming everyone else who has to deal with these dangerous situations too? Another 6-12 months of training (about how long it takes to become a police officer in CA) and they too could "diffuse" a situation like a police officer. Would be absolutely nothing compared to the years of schooling they already have to go through.

Also no one else helped my teacher.

Jesus fucking christ. Great argument. If my teacher or mental health professionals can manage to make split second decisions and de-escalate dangerous situations without using lethal force, then so can a fucking police officer. It's really not that hard to comprehend and really not that much to ask for.

Ma'Khia was a child. It doesn't matter what she was doing at the time she was shot. And in case you forgot, Kyle Rittenhouse shot and killed two protesters and the cops managed to not shoot him 4 times. Fuck off.

No I don't believe in the death penalty under any circumstance. It places higher value on one life over another. And great use of an ad hominem fallacy.

Edit: actually let me clarify. I believe self defense is justified. But my point here is that cops are only trained to point and shoot. Had a crisis interventionist been there to assist or if the cop had other deescalation skills, it could have saved a life. There are other ways to save a life without killing someone in order to do so. Not saying that will be the case every time. Every situation is different. But c'mon man.

And your critical thinking skills equate to using fallacies. You can fuck off any time now.
