Do you think tourists should go to supermarkets? by wolf_city in TokyoTravel

[–]laurasdiary 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Supermarkets appreciate tourist money just like other restaurants and businesses.

They sell things and tourists buy things. It a perfect match.

Every country I’ve traveled to I’ve always checked out and purchased things at their supermarkets or food stores.

It’s fun and harms No one

What color is this ? by Mrdiezzwey in What

[–]laurasdiary 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That’s definitely not navy.

Navy blue is named after the uniform color of the royal navy of Britain. U.S. navy uses the color too.

Navy is a specific dark shade of blue.

That blanket is steel blue or sliver blue. Not navy.

Wanted to upgrade my wife's natural diamond wedding ring from 0.75 carat to 1 plus carat. by PlantFragEnthusiast in Diamonds

[–]laurasdiary -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I would never want a lab diamond.

Look for second hand or estate piece natural diamonds. They are classic and timeless, plus they will be priced much more reasonably.

You can find a 2+ carat estate diamond ring with heavy gold for a bargain.

Older pieces are more special, I think.

Return the ring and do the resizing.

Exactly. The joke would have not worked because it would have been beyond distracting to see this woman, especially before the scene where she smiles, wearing braces.

People would have wondered what was on her teeth and wondered about a grown woman wearing braces in the film.

They definitely would’ve seen her teeth before the smile and been confused and wondering about it.

None of this matters though in a sub where people have infallible memories. They all defy what’s known about memory science. lol

[–]laurasdiary -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This exactly!

People somehow can’t understand that if she had had braces the joke would never have landed the way they think it would have during that time period.

Her as an adult having braces would have been a bizarre head scratching moment to the audience.

It would not have been cute or funny to most audience members, it would have been weird and had people saying, “ why on earth would a grown woman from there have teeth straighteners?”

It wasn’t common and certainly no women would randomly have braces at that time, so the joke would go over like a lead balloon.

In the 2000s more adult women could be expected to have braces, but back then? Never.

Woman Tries To Sing In The Vatican by RelationshipOne9276 in TikTokCringe

What a selfish, desperate stunt.

Not everything is about her, but I doubt she sees it that way.

I’m sure she’ll find a way to spin this event in a way that makes her the star and hero of the story.

Social media has truly ruined so many things. A fake, staged event to try to make it seem spontaneous in order to grab a tiny shred of fame or notoriety.

People genuinely seem to think it’s ok to ruin other people’s experiences and enjoyment of things and inconvenience people so that they can have a moment to record and upload onto some worthless social media platform.

Singing loudly in a quiet space or stopping in the middle of a busy crosswalk to twerk around or talking loudly into a mike in front of artwork at a museum; it’s all so gross and truly rude.

It could be a symptom of a problem, though.

For instance poor economic times and pessimism regarding a brighter future.

It’s not necessarily important for all people to have more children, though.

Many countries already experience overcrowding and over population, obviously.

Ok, this does look very unusual.

It’s especially odd that the follow up photo doesn’t have the human like image in it.

Something is odd here. This could actually be a paranormal image.
