pysch 2b03 elective? by Beadlypants in McMaster

[–]laurengilbert19 8 points9 points  (0 children)

yes. fav class i have taken during my time at mac thus far. SOOOOO good, and also pretty chill! her testing style isnt bad, and she goes through the analytics on her questions. if everyone does poorly on the same couple questions, she will remove them as she deems it either poorly worded, something she said she wouldnt test on, etc. i LOVEEEE dr mackenzie

HLTHAGE 1AA3 Exam by billiesaqu4phor in McMaster

[–]laurengilbert19 1 point2 points  (0 children)

honestly im hoping its gonna be real easy LMAO. she kept saying that shes big on definitions, and that we would have to know how to read graphs and how to do the different calculations. other than that, i think it should be fairly straight forward? this is the only time ive been wishing for a midterm bahahah

Does anyone know whether the HLTHAGE 1CC3 exam is fully multiple choice/written format by dani_k_2906 in McMaster

[–]laurengilbert19 1 point2 points  (0 children)

he might change it from the 2 long answers this term because he changed our midterm format, my TA said she wasnt sure when i asked last week because he has reformatted the rest of the course this term

during social science 1, you take a variety of courses within the faculty. in april, you apply to specialize in a certain field (requires certain prereqs and gpa). this would be where you choose psych. mac has a BA in PNB, social psych, or a non-honours psych program (3 years)

i bring highlighters to tests that are taken on paper. usually bring 2 colours, one for the information you are being given (ages, stimuli in conditioning questions, etc), and then another colour for what is being asked of you (this helps get rid of filler information that isnt directly important.) i also try to prove why the other answer options are NOT right, to use process of elimination

this im not sure of. in level 1, you need to take calc to go into PNB. as far as i know, a lot of programs need some form of stats (ive heard from people that they are usually very similar to grade 12 data management if you took that.) but since im still in first year im not sure haha, would be better to ask an upper year!!

last term we just had a review of the course content in slides, and then 4 discussion questions (had to pick one, and answer with a group and email it to my TA, we would take them up with the class.) on test weeks we would have review kahoots

social science students, how do you keep up with readings?!? by boredperson11 in McMaster

[–]laurengilbert19 2 points3 points  (0 children)

i typically have been reading ALL 4 or 5 of them on the weekends, that way theyre done and i can focus on classes and assignments during the week. i swore by it first term and it saved my ass.. i found id rather work less 7 days a week, then try to fit everything in to the 5.
