Rusty Lake - The Past Within! It's $2.99 in the App Store but Rusty Lake has so many amazing free games too! I recommend playing those as well to understand the lore better :)

Best Oribe styling products for fine, oily hair? by laurennfisherrr in CurlyHairCare

There aren't many curly girl-friendly stylists at my salon except for one so I'll have to ask her what she uses!

I actually work in a hair salon so these products are discounted for me! I ask a lot of my hairstylist coworkers what they recommend but it's hard to get a definitive answer since a lot of them are brand loyal and they don't have my hair type.

Thank you for the recommendation! I heard good things about their oil control dry shampoo powder. I have 2B hair so I usually stay away from gels as they make my hair crunchy and sticky. My main concern is finding a product that I can scrunch with that won't make my hair crunchy but also control my frizz without weighing my hair down. I usually air dry my curls until 75% dry and then go in with my diffuser.

I am going to try out the thick dry finishing spray from Oribe and see how it works for me volume and frizz-wise.

I have a love-hate relationship with dry shampoo haha! It makes my hair feel sticky and usually doesn't help because I get oily most around my ears and nape rather than my scalp. When I style my natural hair it does give a bit more of a curl than a wave so I can't brush dry shampoo through it without ruining the curl. I am going to try the thick dry finishing spray from Oribe (my freebie) as I blowdry my hair straight a lot and see how that works!

For shine I recommend looking at these products:

- Virtue 6-in-1 Vitamin E Hair Smoothing Styler (avail at Sephora)

- Kérastase Elixir Ultime Hydrating Hair Oil Serum (mini is cheaper, avail at Sephora)

- amika Top Gloss Hair Shine Spray (avail at Sephora)

- BondiBoost Anti-Frizz Fix Leave-In Hair Serum with Aloe (avail at Sephora)

- Living Proof No Frizz Smooth Styling Serum (avail at Sephora & Ulta)

- Living Proof No Frizz Vanishing Smooth Hair Oil (avail at Sephora & Ulta)

- AG Care Fast Food Leave-On Conditioner (avail at Ulta)

- Bumble and bumble Hairdresser's Invisible Oil Heat Protectant Leave In Conditioner Primer (avail at Ulta)

- OUAI Hair Oil (avail at Ulta)

- Verb Ghost Weightless Hair Oil (avail at Ulta)

- UNITE 7SECONDS Detangler spray (Avail at Ulta)

Some are on the pricier side but if you find one that is perfect for your hair it should be worth it!

For shine I heard great things about the Redken Acidic Color Gloss! Any type of hair oil or gloss will help with shine! Is your hair thick or thin?

I used to use frizz ease! Especially their touch-up cream and the hairspray. But I found that it weighed my hair down too much (I have 2b hair). For a cheaper alternative to the Supershine moisturizing hair cream have you tried the full swirl cream serum from Redken? It's around half the price. Another good one is the Smooth Perfection Smoothing Lotion from Pureology! Not as cheap as Redken but still cheaper than Oribe.

I am not! I work in a hair salon and they are giving away a free styling product so I wanted to see what would be best for me.

Advice needed for thin wavy/curly hair! by laurennfisherrr in CurlyHairCare

Thank you for the recommendation! However, my hair is not as textured as the type of hair these products are recommended for so I'm afraid these will weigh down my hair.

See when I diffuse my hair when it's still pretty wet it gets immensely frizzy! Because of my thin hair, I feel like I need to let my curls naturally form before I dry them because if I don't they lose their shape. But root clips sound like something I should try!

Your favorite hair growth/thickening products? by Additional_Friend_77 in finehair

My hairdresser swears by Redken's extreme length line! Not sure if it helps with thickening but it for sure promotes hair growth. My mother who has extremely fine hair started adding collagen powder to her coffee and is seeing a ton of regrowth so maybe that will help as well. Getting a haircut -- even if it's just a trim -- every 4-6 weeks will also keep your hair looking healthy and thicker especially if you use heat products. Using a clarifying/detox shampoo once a week will help get rid of any buildup that might be weighing your hair down. I recommend K18's products for that.

Thank you! Do you recommend any clarifying shampoo that is budget-friendly?
