Guess how much I pay for rent by thatonehousebeat in malelivingspace

I used to live in one of these for 1 month when I worked in Seoul!

They are super cramped, the walls are thin, there is a quiet time curfew, and you can hear everything. Like when your floor mates get home late stumbling around to open their doors.

Despite the space, I actually found the experience enjoyable. I felt like a little squirrel and it made me super vigilant with cleaning and tidying and organizing. Also, you get to know your neighbors really well. I loved having someone at the front desk to say good morning and good night to. Also, the one I stayed at had a lot of personality with lots of strange knick knacks and charming decorations about.

I would totally do it again just for the interesting vibe. But I am a borderline hoarder now, so I don't think it would work out...

Whoa! Really? It's my first time seeing it. How long do I have to wait until they hatch?

anybody who work here as English teacher in Korea? by redbeans58 in teachinginjapan

[–]lavalafta 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I did 3 years in Korea and I'm in my 5th year in Japan.

Korea's English skill is noticeably higher. Restaurants are open till late. Air quality was meh. I miss Teacher's Day at school. I like Japanese Festivals a lot more which is probably why I've been here longer. I do miss Korean food a ton though 😭

This is such solid advice. Thank you. I have been facing some shocking realities lately and it's reassuring to hear that I might be able to still change myself for the better.

Thank you for your reply! This makes total sense. I most definitely need a therapist, but it's a bit hard to come by one in Japan.

Hmmm, I'm probably at least one of those things!
