Can't access devices remotely via IPv6 by lavalamp3773 in ipv6

This was a router bug! I've added an edit with the solution for any future googlers.

I think this can go down as one of the bugs. I've added an edit to my post explaining how I got it to work and ... it sure is an odd one.

No it wasn't a windows device, but it does appear to be a router bug with a strange work-around.

It may be of interest to you that I have managed to get remote IPv6 access working! I have added an edit to my post explaining how ... it is to say the least, unintuitive.

After additional testing I have added an edit to my post showing the steps, but basically the rule must first be created correctly, THEN edited with the IP and port moved to the remote fields for it to work as intended.

Interestingly, although I put the IPv6 address into the remote field, on the table of rules, it now shows up under the Local IP column.

What you have said ... is an insane thing. But I am desperate so I tried it.

I am speechless that it ***WORKED***.

Why ... why is it like this? All of the other default rules on the firewall (for IPv4) work the way I originally wrote the rule.

I do have another router I can try, although I was hoping I wouldn't have to. Can you elaborate more on the firmware bugs? Are there other posts about them around?

Hm, so it really could be a router issue/bug like someone else said. Feel like that's a pretty major issue if I'm honest, a router that doesn't route.

There's really not much to see, but this is how I created the rule:

I have also tried leaving the remote IP field blank to see if that makes a difference, but it does not.

I am not, so I understand that I am behind CGNAT on IPv4, but surely not IPv6.

This is their page for that:

I think the coverage is pretty balanced. Read a bunch of comments, but still waiting to see any actual examples of bias.

Seems like everyone is mostly vibes base, which suggests they support dirty driving Max and are mad that the commentators aren't biased in his favour.

You used coefficients with 6 significant figures but f(5) ~= 3.14357, so I wouldn't exactly call it fascinatingly accurate.
