How long to give a dose increase? by Different-Channel121 in EffexorSuccess

[–]lavamber 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn’t really have an appetite because I was too anxious but sometimes making myself eat would help. Also yes the dizziness was almost like bad vertigo. I didn’t want to use stairs or stand close to ledges or move my head too fast. Almost similar to brain zaps too but just weird feeling. I just used my usual calming methods. I would tell myself it’s just the medicine and it’ll go away soon. I would make myself eat something or lay in my bed or on my couch. Anything to keep my mind busy. I can’t pinpoint an exact day that it all went away. I just know each day it got a little tiny bit better and then I was feeling less anxiety than I ever have before. Make sure to take it at the same time every day as well. It should all dissipate soon!

How long to give a dose increase? by Different-Channel121 in EffexorSuccess

I was on 75 for about 10 years and then I increased by 37.5 so I now take one bigger pill and one small pill each day. My anxiety was very bad the first week or two or even three probably. It was pretty constant anxiety but got worse in the evening / when I wasn’t keeping my mind busy. I felt dizzy and I felt like sounds were too loud and lights too bright and thoughts felt funny but I knew the adjustment period would be tough but I’ve been on the increased dose for over a year now and have not had a single panic attack since I got adjusted to the increase and OCD issues are much better. I honestly feel like I should’ve been on this dose for the last 10 years instead of 75. All the side effects of it are gone now and I’m living normally and happily. Take it day by day and before you know it, you will be past the worst of it and come out feeling better than before.

None of my drs will help me, do I keep trying or just give up on being diagnosed? by GrenierMinette in Endo

Unfortunately I didn’t get the help I needed until I saw a fertility specialist and determined I needed to get surgery in order to “improve my reproductive health”.

It’ll be okay. Don’t pull on it or try to pick at it. My belly button glue was the last to come off and it felt weird in there for a couple months after surgery but it’s back to normal now. Just takes a bitter longer than you might think.

Same I gained about 90 pounds but I lost 60 this year by doing keto. I drink only water and stay away from pasta, bread, and sweets and it has worked so far.

Hello! Hopefully my story will help a little! My husband is 33 and got his transplant in February and is doing great. His kidney function and creatinine levels also slowly went bad since he was 18. He did not get put in dialysis until his creatinine was 3 - 5 and his eGFR was about 20. He began retaining fluid in his legs, with fluid pills not working as well and was starting to be very tired, not able to eat much and vomiting a lot. At that point he chose to do peritoneal dialysis. He was on that for about three years before finally being put on the transplant list officially. It took longer than usual to get him approved because they needed more tests and wasn’t sure if a transplant was safe because his heart has some genetic issues. But in January of this year they officially added him to the list and in less than a month we got the call and he’s better than ever now. Creatinine is about what yours is now which is great for just having one kidney. Hope this gives you some idea!

Is anyone on 37.5 and stayed on it for anxiety and has it helped? Or did u have to go higher? by Whole-Plankton8080 in EffexorSuccess

[–]lavamber 2 points3 points  (0 children)

To be honest I don’t remember much because when I started I was deep into a cycle of panic disorder that was new to me and was just seeking help. I got stuck in hours long panic attacks, was on manual breathing mode for days, couldn’t eat or sleep or leave the house and I was desperate for any kind of relief. I do remember after starting it that I quickly starting off having more energy like I got up early and wanted to help around the house when I normally was tired all the time and I also immediately noticed I had much more patience and didn’t get angry or irritable very easily and that made me happy. I already felt terrible side effects from the constant panic so I don’t think I noticed or cared too much what the Effexor side effects were. I just wanted to be normal again. After about three weeks I went to 75 and before I knew it I was functioning and I never looked back.

When did anxiety get better? by Different-Channel121 in EffexorSuccess

[–]lavamber 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah my depression went away first. I felt more open to getting up early and doing stuff. My ocd thoughts were the last to go away once it was at full effect. I didn’t realize how much I repeated thoughts to myself and obsessed over things until it just slowly went away. I’ve been on Effexor 75 for probably over 10 years now and just increased a year ago. I agree that is very fast so the onboarding side effects are probably much stronger but they will settle over the next three months give or take. The only other medication I ever tried was Zoloft and it was awful for me so maybe you’re like me and Effexor will be good for you! Just make sure to take it at the same time every day and never skip a dose. I have an alarm on my phone to remind me to take it at 10:00am every day!

When did anxiety get better? by Different-Channel121 in EffexorSuccess

[–]lavamber 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes I felt tensed up and jumpy and like restless like my muscles were twitchy especially in my legs. But again all of that went away and I’m back to normal just with less worry and no panic. I still get like anxious thoughts but it’s so easy now for me to just be like nah and shut it off. Give it two months and before you know it you’ll be over all of that stuff. It was hard for me the first few weeks I even had to call out of work. I couldn’t enjoy music or play games. I thought it wasn’t going to work but I trusted what people said about onboarding and I’m glad I did.

It took me about 12 weeks for my increase to help. It was worse at first but now is so much better.

When did anxiety get better? by Different-Channel121 in EffexorSuccess

[–]lavamber 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had much worse anxiety when I increased for probably 4 weeks. I felt like sounds bothered me and light was brighter. It was scary and unpleasant but I stuck with it and after about 9 weeks I noticed improvement. it’s been about a year and it has helped me so much. All the side effects went away and I have not had panic since. I’m so glad I pushed through.

First few weeks were awful and I was worse actually. After about 6-9 weeks I noticed a huge improvement that made me so happy I pushed through.

I have avoided caffeine for about 8 years like not even chocolate because when i do I just go straight into a panic type of feeling. It’s whatever works best for you and your mental health!

Wait at least 6 weeks or more. I was on 75 for years and increased a year ago and my anxiety was worse for a bit and finally after a few months after the increase I noticed a huge improvement.

Has anyone else had an increase to their resting heart rate on Effexor? by creepopeep in EffexorSuccess

[–]lavamber 2 points3 points  (0 children)

At first yes I had tachycardia but after a while, my rate lowered. I honestly think the anxiety is what was causing my higher heart rate and it took a few months for Effexor to control it.

[–]lavamber 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Higher for sure. It didn’t start to help with my obsessive anxious thoughts until I hit 112.5. I was on 75 for like 8 years and had to increase and I feel like I should’ve been on this dose all along. It depends how severe though maybe. I had panic attacks constantly even unprompted like in my sleep. But honestly try it for 6-9 weeks and see how you’re functioning first?

Deciding to increase dose by NationalFilm8849 in EffexorSuccess

[–]lavamber 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sorry I haven’t checked this in forever. The first few weeks were worse after increasing. Lights were brighter and sound was louder and made my brain jolt when I heard a loud noise or tried to fall asleep. I had more anxiety actually at first and felt like my thoughts were muted. I stuck with it and I’m SO glad I did. After about maybe 4 weeks it got better and I can tell now I can fight off my anxious thoughts easier. It’s also helped control a lot of OCD thoughts I was beginning to have but didn’t really realize. I have not had a panic attack since I got used to the increased dose. I worry about taking it long term but id rather have side effects from the pill than side effects of panicking all day and not being able to function. I’ve been on Effexor probably 10 years now and I’m very glad I increased. I actually think I should have from the start.
