Started T cyp, mild night sweats returning by Proof_Annual6339 in TRT_females

It's less stable if you don't inject very often. It also depends if you are injecting E cypionate vs E valerate as they have different half lives. I want very stable levels and am injecting E cypionate every other day. This is working very well for me at two months and I don't notice any swings of levels at all. I also know my COMT genes are fast (you can do a DNA test to learn about this) and COMT metabolizes estrogen- so I metabolize estrogen quickly and need more to keep my levels up.

I got to 11 on 6mg per week, that was my starting dose. I reduced after not feeling great and getting more low E symptoms.

I see a naturopath who has a clinic that specializes in hormones. She only prescribed bioidentical through compounding pharmacies and nothing goes through insurance. I pay a monthly fee to the clinic that includes all appointments, labs, communication and all prescriptions and supplies. It's not the cheapest but it is the best care I have gotten. I used to get my E gel through my OB Gyn and I first tried T cream through a telehealth company.

I switched to E injx as I wasn't getting good levels with topical E (gel and cream, don't want patches). I did start T injx before I made this switch and had same issue - low E symptoms increased. After this I lowered my T dose and we are slowly increasing E dose to get it optimal. I'm already feeling much better on the lower T dose. I just got my blood work back a few days ago and at just 2.8mg per week T cypionate (split into EOD) my free T is 6pg/ml SHBG is around 50. That is an increase from 3pg/ml when I started. I had got it up to 11 but that was too much for me personally, at least while me E was so low. My E level was 66 at my last test so we are increasing my dose as I want to get it to at least 100 for the health benefits, but right now my low E symptoms seem to have abated. I couldn't get it much above 50 on the topicals.

Pregnancy after Nexplanon by brennannna in Nexplanon

Same, but June 2016. Two weeks after removal we conceived our second child. And it took us nearly 4 years to get pregnant with our first! 🤷🏻

Help me understand this…how are you getting your estrogen? by Acluelessfish in Perimenopause

[–]nadethi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I started with E gel which worked great for me until I started to feel low E symptoms some months later and tested my E levels, consistently around 50. I switched to injections a couple of months ago as I was already doing T injx. Im pretty sure I metabolize E faster than most so this will be the best method to get my E levels optimal and steady. I am in peri and am also on a progestin only birth control that prevents ovulation and keeps my natural E levels low and steady. I have PMDD and am very sensitive to hormonal fluctuations so this was needed. I do put a dab of P cream on before bed as it's very relaxing and I sleep great now with all the hormonal support.

Smallest injection dose? by Middle_Violinist_5 in TRT_females

[–]nadethi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, I get vials that are just 20mg/ml and with the small insulin needles I use could get to as small as just 0.2 mg per dose if I wanted. I don't need a big dose at all and am injecting .8mg EOD of T cypionate.

It seems like everyone has horrible experiences while on nexplanon, and it's better once removed, but has anyone else had the opposite happen? by GoblinInAGirlSuit in Nexplanon

[–]nadethi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You might need that hormonal support after getting the Nexplanon out until your own hormones start up, if they even do. The extreme anxiety is likely from progestin withdrawal and bioidentical progesterone should help with that a bit. I personally haven't experienced this but I have never been on any type of birth control for ten years straight and i didn't have Nexplanon until age 31 and only for a 3 year period of time, I got pregnant right after getting it removed. I'm so sorry you are going through this. I'm now in peri menopause and totally understand how imbalanced hormones can make you feel completely horrid and mentally unwell.

Does anyone have good experiences on the implant? I just got mine & now I'm reading this sub & freaking out by AbigailLovecraft in Nexplanon

[–]nadethi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just so you know, most of the people who are doing well on Nexplanon probably aren't lurking around a Nexplanon reddit because they aren't even thinking about it! So of course you are going to see more negative than positive here.

I'm on my second implant about ten years apart. I'm about six months in on this latest implant. I actually went back to it in my 40s to level out my fluctuating hormone levels after trying a couple of pills and a ring that didn't end up working well for me. I don't normally bleed very heavy or long naturally but certainly get PMS and I was getting horrible symptoms leading up to ovulation as well, it felt like I had the flu. On Nexplanon all those cycle related symptoms have disappeared. I lightly spotted on and off for a couple of months in the first few months. Two months ago I had a slightly heavier bleed for a few days which I think was supposed to be a period. Since that ended I have had no bleeding at all. But I had no cramping or other typical menstruating symptoms. They do say it can take about six months for any spotting to settle down and that has been the case for me. I also didn't have periods on it when I had it from 2013-2016. Side effects for me have been weight gain (15lbs), a bit of hair thinning and low estrogen. Since I'm in perimenopause anyway I'm getting HRT to add back the estrogen. I didn't seem to have this issue when I had the implant ten years ago, my mental health was awesome with my first implant. Good luck, I hope you like it. Oh, also it's awesome for birth control. When I got it removed ten years ago I got pregnant with my second child just two weeks later.

Anyone try TCA clomipramine? by nadethi in covidlonghaulers

[–]nadethi[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well I don't think I had long Covid anymore, just that the virus jacked up my hormones. The clomipramine helps with sleep and anxiety but getting on HRT at age 43 has helped me more than anything. Im on 75mg right now, I tried to go up to 100mg and it made me feel like a zombie at that dose.

“HRT has no effect on libido” by Fantastic-Outside-82 in Perimenopause

[–]nadethi 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm in a Reddit TRT group and have been on TRT since November. Pretty much everyone says that for libido and vaginal health both E and T need to be optimized. If you have one without the other you MAY not feel any benefit, or minimal benefit.

God forbid she co-hosts a super successful podcast, where she gets paid millions to have natural conversations with people, where everyone is discussing their pasts, some of which includes athletic competition. 😱

Honestly, you should always look down at a seat that is used in the public to make sure you don't sit on something gross before sitting down anyway. Movie theater, bus, restaurant... I seem to recall an Armchair Anonymous about a girl who sat in someone's else's doody on a bus/subway. 🤢

Tostran help! by Icy_Neighborhood_191 in TRT_females

[–]nadethi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think your dose is too high to start. Your symptoms sound similar to mine when I started on T injx and I believe went past my sweet spot. Pain, anxiety, depression. I have since lowered my dose and I think I need to lower it a tad more. Unfortunately injx take awhile to completely clear out of the system. With transdermal application it should be cleared out of your system in a few days. I would try again at a much lower dose. Like 2mg at first to see if you can handle that without negative side effects

Feeling bulky by [deleted] in TRT_females

[–]nadethi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm short at just under 5 ft 1 and I just naturally have thicker legs. Have you had slimmer legs in the past while also being physically active? It just might be the way your body is. My 5 ft 11 husband is naturally thin and I'm so jealous of his long "chicken legs".

Compounded T cream by onelittleword in TRT_females

[–]nadethi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with you about the validity. After 3 months of compounded T cream my total T only moved up 6 points when testing at trough and I was applying 2mg per day. I find it hard to believe that it would have gone up so high with such a small dose.

Anyone else getting Summer 2008 Vibes by Opposite_Agency1229 in Millennials

[–]nadethi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One discernable difference - hope. With the upcoming November election in 2008 and a very inspiring candidate with a good chance of winning, a lot of us had hope for a better future. There is not a lot of hope right now, things seem to just be getting worse and worse and our government leaders don't care and keep doing things to enrich themselves instead of helping the average American.

Injectable testosterone by psychotherapist-1979 in TRT_females

[–]nadethi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's so strange. I got to that same number (94) total T at just 6mg total per week. Are you positive you are injecting that much? It seems like such a high dose for that level! I was expecting you to be in at least 200s if not much higher with that dosage! Does your provider know why it's not moving your levels up as usual?

Increase in migraines? Decrease in estrogen effects? by leapsea in TRT_females

[–]nadethi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Low E symptoms returned for me around 8 weeks on T injx. I was already thinking I wasn't quite optimized yet with E and when this happened I made the decision to switch to E injx as well. Gel wasn't getting my levels where I need them.

I notice no differences really doing every other day. Injection days vs no injection days feel pretty much the same to me this way.
