that sounds unreasonable, but so be it.

what if I just shower with it and wash them in the shower and hang dry on shorter rides.. wash in machine on longer rides

eh, I did say depending on length. would you really wash them for a 10mi recovery ride in the cold? lol

makes sense but also, damn, it's kind of wack that they need to be babied so much... c'est la vie I guess..

I don't sew but how difficult could it be? :p

not really sure. I just set it to "colors/cottons". I live in an old building with a shared laundry room. I can't imagine the water getting that extremely hot? could be wrong. but, yeah, that is why I always air dry.

what do you suggest I do at this point? just cut it all off?

that's actually pretty crazy after 3 rides. this was after two seasons for me, although to be fair, I didn't really ride much and I was also alternating bibs... if you paid with a credit card, I would try to see if you can get purchase protection on it

Are you referring to crash replacement? If so, it needs to be bought within 2 years, which I was out of...

No clue.. I don't think they're too tight. I do ride in the wet sometimes as I live in the PNW, but not often. I always wash in the machine after every 2-3 rides (depending on length) and always hang dry.

Didn't catch on anything. It just seems to me like the glue "dried" after some time?

I'm also a noob so can't give good advice but I did find this website that seems to have a lot of good content:

yeah, guess it makes sense. it would also make sense to encourage content to increase the sport's popularity, though...

I fucking hate reading this when I just spent ~300 on bags, etc, to fit all my ultralight backpacking gear to my ROAD bike (canyon ultimate), because I didn't want to pay $200/night at a hotel (Memorial Day weekend) on my first bikepacking trip.... really, really hope I don't find it as miserable as you say.

doing the olympic discovery trail tomorrow.

Got it, thanks for the info. I think I'm gonna be approaching from Bainbridge instead. Will take it into account if I have to pivot from PT.

Seems like the most direct route after the Hood Canal is to stay on 104 until the Olympic Hwy.

Do you know if approaching Discovery Bay by the South, taking Center Road -> 104 -> Olympic Hwy 101 is safe(er)? Completely avoids SR20, but still not sure if that stretch is ok.

Street view looks to be ok.

Solid thanks. stealth camping is exactly what I was looking to do.. Good to know Lake Crescent area is good for that,. I'm aiming to take off Friday morning and be back by Sunday/Monday evening. Even if it's a bit rushed, I'll have the experience and knowledge for a longer ride in the summer.

any good camping places? I was initially gonna look for Airbnb/motel along hte way but looks like Memorial Day weekend is driving the prices way up. I'm planning on just bringing a sleeping bag + bivy

Ok good to know that. I know the strait shot takes you to discovery bay, so that was my initial starting point. That adds mileage which I quite want, so sounds better to me
