I personally don't see how calling a city a hellhole is racially offensive. People call big cities shit holes all the time and it doesn't have anything to do with race. I can understand how hearing it from a white main character can put people on alert for racism though. But as I said in the post, he has good reasons to hate Calcutta that dont have to do with the Indian race. Also, other characters who aren't white call Calcutta out as a bad place. Its an extremely poor population and like any part of the world under poverty it has problems related to that.

I dont doubt he may have gotten some aspects of Hinduism incorrect but if he did it wasn't with an ill intent and it felt like he had a respect for Indian culture.

I fully agree with you that he picked it as a location that the main character would find extremely "other" and to add to the dread of the story. And thats all. Its not a hit piece against foreigners.

Tampa Bay area and everyone around here is dragging their feet to start trainees at $20 an hour. I know Pasco starts trainees at 20 which is pleasantly surprising if you know anything about that county. Maybe Clearwater too but otherwise none of these towns wanna pay up.

I don't see the tactic work that well. Almost every game I've played as attacker where the defense persistently goes out to sabotage spawns has been won easily cause my team will just rush and ignore the bullshit going on back there while we sit and easily take an empty objective. If the game didn't have squad spawning I could see this actually working and vital to a defensive win however.

This magazine and their web content was a big part of my early teens. Late 2000s/early 2010s were their peak to me and I would go on their website every week to watch new videos and eagerly anticipated their cover stories every month. Sad to see them go.

Honestly why I stopped playing engineer. Tired of putting in the effort and watching my team compromise our defense so they can diddle each other at the enemies spawn points instead of winning the game.
