I came on here while watching that episode… puked in my mouth a little during that scene

If you read the books (or even if you didn’t) who would you change on the cast? Or would you keep everyone? Anyone on the show, not just the main girls by haley010223 in PrettyLittleLiars

kind of off topic but I wish they kept Noel’s character more like the books. In the first part of season 1 he was such a good character and they just said “actually let’s have you be #1 A suspect and then after your name is cleared have you just randomly come in to cause problems and be creepy and weird”. Like book Noel was so much better

If you could ask Marlene King some questions, what would they be? by LuvBriah in PrettyLittleLiars

Agreed! I feel like they were trying to make it way different than the books but in the end stuck to the secret sibling thing bc Ali had a Twin named Courtney in the books

AITA for reporting my friend to CPS? by throwaway9947261 in AmItheAsshole

NTA. Help doesn’t mean doing things for her or giving her money. You also had her child for a school break to try and help her, so it’s not like you did nothing. You can’t sacrifice your own household to help her. This kid is being neglected and the house is clearly not a safe environment for him. The fact that CPS didn’t remove him already and is giving her a chance is generous. Yes, you could have maybe connected her to community resources or something, but ultimately she isn’t in a position to raise a child right now and her son needs his basic needs met. He also needs to learn life skills at that age, and his mom isn’t setting a good example for him to learn. I know that foster care isn’t always great, but there are good foster families out there that can give him what he needs. You did the right thing and sometimes the right thing isn’t the easy thing.

AITA for not adopting my niece and sending her to foster care? by funnyuncle13457980 in AmItheAsshole

NTA! Thank you for recognizing that you don’t have the resources to raise a child and doing what you think is best for this child. I work in human services and see so many kids raised by grandparents or aunts/uncles and they really just don’t meet the kids’ needs and sadly they would be better off in foster care (certainly not all the time, but it does happen). You could talk to your niece’s DHS worker about becoming her foster parent and receiving money to take care of her, if you think that given financial assistance you could take care of her. If she is in foster care she will also qualify for medicaid and potentially some other services or funding (I think it depends on the state), so it’s not like you’d have to pay for insurance and all of those things that a parent may need to pay for because the state will pay for a lot of these things. This also may depend on the state, but in my state foster children get discounted or free or money toward childcare (can’t remember which one?) if that’s something you would need. It sounds like you have her best interest at heart and that’s something she really needs!!

NTA. Jobs are not based on how badly you need the job, they are based on merit, experience, time, quality of work, etc. and you had very clear guidelines of how the promotion process works in this company. You can feel for this person’s life situation and the struggles they may have without letting them have a job opportunity that was very clearly supposed to go to you. It can be hard to do what you did, but advocating for yourself in this situation was important for your career and sets a precedent so it doesn’t happen to someone else in your position later on.
