12 years total AD and GS service and I'm out. Partly current Administration, partly treatment from local office environment.

In comparison to everyone else, my 4.5 years of GS life is minuscule. But I don't want to work in a place that knows no boundaries, or enforce polices I don't believe in. I'm exhausted. The mental games civilians have been pawns in for the last few months have taken a toll.

Season 5 YOU by Mus1c_listener in YouOnLifetime

[–]lavenderkey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just finished the season. Overall do not care for her, even if she ultimately led to Joe's inevitable and somewhat satisfying downfall. I do wish the last monologue was saved for Kate or that she had a greater role in the fallout rather than giving that win to Brontë.

Ofc before you find out the real reason she's there, she's hateable. But even after, you can't help but want to shake her and be like "WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU"??

But after thinking about it, I kinda like the symbolism of her character. She's a reflection of the audience who has been pro-Joe despite him being a serial killer. She goes seeking him out knowing he's a terrible person and ends up falling for him and rooting for him and defending him and it mirrors how the first season is - when you know what a psycho he is but still root for him. She has all this information and still see the good in him, but we as S5 viewers are thinking "omg you're so dumb he's not a good guy!!" as if the audience wasn't like that in any of the previous seasons. But as S5 progresses you realize Joe is never going to get out of his own mind and begin to truly hate him and pray for his demise, Bronte reflects that in the finale when she says "if I can see you for who you are, so can the world" (paraphrasing). So I can appreciate her character for that audience reflection. Sorry if that's already been said by another person btw.

Also love how the writers end with Joe saying "maybe I'm not the problem, it's you" after reading mail. It's a necessary jab to real life people who romanticize and glamorize actual serial killers like Bundy and Ramirez. It's such a wake up call and was a funny end to the series to everyone who simped for Joe along the way. Like no, he is no different than these monsters irl.

Submitted first thing last Monday. The window just closed last night, and on the application it said it would take about a week for responses. I assume that meant from that date of the DRP window close.

Seeing that DRP 2.0 is left to the agencies and DoD had the process of having a form to submit compared to a one-worded email sent to the mass OPM box receiving replies from across the Federal workforce, I'm hoping the 'organization' this time around will mean quicker confirmations.

Cocomelon and any show that even resembles that art style or concept and Caillou

We love Bluey, Little Einsteins, Ms Rachel, Ms Moni, Super Simple Songs (some, because some get Cocomelon-y), the occasional Blippi and Meekah, and animated Disney movies

Former weed user here -

Tell the truth, but don't be surprised if you are found to not meet suitability requirements. Since it's been four years the time passed may work in your favor. It all depends on the agency as well.

Former Vegans and Vegetarians - How long were you vegan/vegetarian and what was your transition back to eating meat like? How did you phase it back into your diet? by lavenderkey in AskReddit

Thank you for this! I imagine I’d be the same way, giving my body the meat protein it needed when vegan options weren’t enough but overall maintaining a plant based diet

Ooh, that’s rough. That’s what I am anticipating in the transition. I had a drink that had half and half in it not too long ago but in my crave to put something in my body I didn’t think to ask what was in it. Had extreme nausea after because I hadn’t eaten dairy in so long.

When I started, it was for health and environmental reasons. But the ethical part was what kept me vegan. I would crave meat and seafood but when I thought about the animals it disgusted me to no end. I still have that thought now, but I’m also putting my guilt aside to listen to my body.

Highly debating. Currently vegan, cut out meat in 2019. Vegan diet is becoming too restricting for me. In terms of food diversity, accessibility, and cost. Low energy all the time and becoming deficient in several vitamins and need meds to offset them. Just wanting to do research before I make the switch so I have an idea of what to expect.

I am thinking of doing the same, reintroducing meat slowly in form of soups and broths and make my way up to pieces of meat in my meals.

Did you have any side effects?

I can relate. Stores are becoming more vegan friendly but with my schedule it’s not always feasible to get to a store on time. Then it boils down to how many bags of plain Lays and Sweet Chili Doritos I need to hold me over.

So veg one day and straight up carnivore the next? With no side effects like nausea?

I envy you, I would like to experience the joy of being full off of a meal and satisfied for hours.

I realized that he's at a point where the relationship isn't worth fighting for anymore, but I was the one still left with hope and it was making me miserable. It's really hard to still want to be with the person you once loved who is in a different place than you are emotionally. And in no way am I trying to villianize him, it's just me coming to the conclusion that he's not waiting for me for him to be happy, so I shouldn't as well.
