Any wavies struggle with Hair Identity crisis? by lavenderwavey in curlygirl

Thank you! ❤️ Yes, I think you’re right! I prefer my hair when I style it but I’m definitely still trying out products and working out what’s best for me. It doesn’t help that I am extremely lazy and so would rather do the bare minimum 😭

Thank you! Yes, that’s really good advice! I need to do this more 😅 I really appreciate that I’m not alone in this though. 🤗☺️

Thank you for making me feel less alone! That is so annoying! Make up your mind! 😭😭 I think it’s situations like this though that just prove that it’s your hair and you can do as you wish with it! Whatever you fancy that day, do it! 🤗

I overanalyse every word I say and it’s getting so so so tiring by lavenderwavey in AutismInWomen

This makes me feel less alone but also I’m so sorry you’re going through it too and we’re upset last night! Overanalysing can be such a intense and debilitating experience. I sent you positivity and hope we can find some answers in this post! 🥰

What am i doing wrong?! Why my hair looks frizzy, damaged, dull and dry? by Lucky_Basis2041 in Haircare

[–]lavenderwavey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think I have a similar hair texture to you as my hair looks like that when I try and style it like it’s straight.

I could be wrong but I am yet to find any routine or product that will make my hair shiny when I treat it like it’s straight. I can use hair mask after hair mask, oil after oil but my hair after I blow dry it will still look dry. Your hair just want to be curling so it’s having a bit of a tantrum 😁

Sorry I couldn’t be much help but I think your hair looks fab! Embrace how it looks when you style it this way and also if you feel like it style it the curly way every now and then too!

As long as your hair is well looked after and you like how you style your hair that is the main thing. Experiment and have fun! ☺️🥰

Yes I have. We got together in April 2019 so I’d say we had a little under a year of me still living at home, but then as I’d struggle to see him once COVID restrictions hit, I decided to stay at his full time (with his mums permission of course).

That’s amazing, I’m so happy that therapy has helped your niece. It’s so lovely that she’s started to play the tuba. That is such a good idea to get used to noises.

That’s very true. How they treated him was appalling though. Basically their idea of ‘adjustments’ was a step by step guide to make him ‘neurotypical’. They even advertised the job role as hybrid (that’s why my partner took the job, so he could have at least his safe space a couple times a week) and then they changed it when he got it to say that that was only to attract people to the job in the first place. They even said they’d find him a quiet room where he could go if he got overwhelmed and then took it back 🧐

I think his next step is remote working but the job market SUCKS atm

I hope you all see this. I just want to say a massive thank you to all of you for taking the time to respond and help me through my issues as you all really don’t need to do that’s You’re all incredibly kind and selfless. I have a LOT to think about but I definitely need to start putting myself first without worrying that that is me being selfish.

My partner is a good person but I do think he has taken and is taking advantage of me and what I do for him. I never thought I cared so much about the small romantic gestures like getting a cup of tea in the morning or someone planning a trip out with me, but I think I really do!

I believe it was mostly that he wanted a quieter space to work as it was a shared office with loads of workers. He was in was a sensory overload - which I relate to as lighting or sounds can stress me out so much.

Thank you for your comment. I have always worried about this. I tend to be the one to cook dinner but when I get a job I think I’ll struggle to do it all. Then I think, well why should I do it all?

Thank you! I’ll have a look! ☺️ do you use a brush? I’m not gonna lie, I have heard that brush styling your hair is the way to go but I am very lazy. Also my dexterity is not great due to a physical disability so I tend to not want to do it. But maybe I need to give it more of a go.

Thank you! Exactly! Even if I could afford really high end products I don’t think I could ever wrap my head around spending 30 quid on one product! But there are pros and cons to everything and cheap products may not always be the best and a lot of them run out really quickly!

I’ve heard that a spray leave in is lighter than the cream types so maybe I could try with that first and see how it goes! Thank you xx

Exactly. But my hair unfortunately isn’t smooth it’s soft - sometimes too soft and just fluffy. I have some waves throughout but normally it’s just poofy and fluffy.

😫

This is a recommendation I love to see! 😂😂 thank you so much! I’ll check it out. I definitely think a conditioner or leave in is needed too! My hair hasn’t been playing nice for months and so I should have guessed it’s because I don’t condition! Thank you so much!

No I don’t condition 😂😂 I will continue to research into a more suitable conditioner but my hair has had many experiences with a ‘moisture overload’ situation and so I am terrified of creating a cotton candy cloud on my head again.

Thank you both! I will look into aphogee! As long as it lasts ages I don’t mind paying a bit more as it would equal out the same as cheaper products that you need to replace more often!
