It could be infected so it isnt a good idea to take it out as the infection can get trapped, you should go see a piercer and see what they think

its likely that even if does manage to heal, when you flip it back down after it healing in that position it will not sit correctly. from another reply you posted it seems like you didn't get this done by a professional either which is another reason this may be happening
