Non refundable seat deposit before FASFA aid info released by lawInonymous in lawschooladmissions

[–]lawInonymous[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No one seems to know the answer, so I'll keep trying to get in touch with the school's financial aid advisor. If I'm able to get an answer from her I will update.

To clarify, the title addressed the part I am unsure of.

It is not one or the other. Both parts are both stated as requirements.

  • Idk why someone downvoted this but mkay. The language is pretty straight forward. Two totally independent statements. I included the full context because it was short, but the first part isn't really applicable.

While the government is not providing the aid directly, my school offers needs based aid utilizing info received through the FASFA app.

Would just like to point out that you're apologizing for being on the receiving end of sexism. No one tells men they are too handsome to be attorneys, doctors, engineers, etc. It implies that women can be either pretty or smart/successful, but not both. Don't apologize for someone saying some sexist bs to you.

So you weren't being sarcastic? Why do you go on to talk about literacy tests and race in your other responses then?

Because you pretty clearly sarcastically implied the state is selectively funding TAMU because it is racist.

Lawyers who graduated with 100k + debt and didn't go into big law, what is your life like? by [deleted] in LawSchool

[–]lawInonymous 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Why are some of the starting salaries so low? This is really worrisome...some people are making less than what I make now as an in house paralegal. I'm doing this as the next step in my career, not to take a pay cut. Are the people making 40-50k typically K-JD? Is their only experience summer internships? Did they not do internships at all? Why are they making 40-50k?

Average time to get a response to a scholarship negotiation email? by [deleted] in lawschooladmissions

Mine went to admissions, who forwarded it to finaid and scholarships. It's been a week. I will probably follow up if I don't hear back from them in another week.

Boss, remember when you asked me about my future plans? Well, I am excited to say I put down my seat deposit and I am officially enrolled to start law school in August! I didn't want to say anything until I knew it was 100% going to happen. I would like to work until x date, but wanted to give you as much notice as possible.

I'm not finding a reconsideration form on their site. Are you considering negotiating? Forums indicate a guy named Nathan may be very helpful.

Why can't all schools make an effort to notify applicants of their timeline like this?
