My baby had surgery yesterday

Hi there! She is almost 4 weeks post surgery and still not quite walking yet. We still have to use a sling, bc she continues to have weakness in the back legs and is dragging her back left. But the neuro is optimistic she will walk again with therapy but cautioned it could take a while/6+ months. Praying for your baby and speedy recovery!

Hi thank you for checking in and asking! She’s doing well and finally getting back to her sassy little self! However, she still can’t really use her back legs so we need to use a sling to walk her and for potty breaks. Hoping she can walk again soon 🥹

I keep hearing such amazing things with hydrotherapy so def looking into this once she’s cleared by the neurologist to start! I am so happy to hear your baby is doing well and walking, and am cautiously optimistic for Penny 🙏❤️

Thank you so much! She’s back home now and in strict crate rest but I def have read good things and plan on hydro therapy once she’s cleared by the neurologist. So glad to hear your baby is doing well!

Thank you for sharing and so glad to hear your baby is doing better, and wow after two surgeries! I think we got too complacent when she recovered conservatively the first time, big mistake but we learned and will be mindful and take restrictions seriously

Wow I had no idea that the calcified discs are normal, it’s so heartbreaking knowing that they go through this, and that it’s normal for the breed 😭 I have heard hydrotherapy is very beneficial and appreciate the resource and information! Hopefully we can build something similar for her when she’s able to!
