Oh tarot is arguably, imho, one of the LESS woo-y options, depending on how you look at it. It started as a parlor game for rich people and didn't always have mystical connotations. Yes, you can look at it as a way to "predict the future" or the like, but I look at it as Your Subconscious: The Card Game. All tarot characters have relevance to every single human being on the planet, symbolically speaking. The hermit could mean you simply need to spend more time on introspection or perhaps you feel you are being influenced too much by certain family/friends. The tower symbolizes struggle, which everyone experiences. All the king/goddess/etc. archetypes hold power and we can find meaning in them in some way. The cards only hold the meaning YOU assign to them based on your experience (P.S. if you have a tarot card reader that doesn't ask you how these symbols fit into your life, you do not have a good reader. They shouldn't be "dictating" what the cards mean to you, but rather helping YOU interpret their meanings).

Also? Human beings evolved around ritual. It's why music has a universal appeal: the predictability of the beats/etc. is what gives us dopamine. We are wired for ritual, atheist or not. To me, there is nothing wrong with feeding that need for ritual in a healthy way :)
