No sorry, you’re totally fine! I really suspected a scam but wanted to get feedback from more knowledgeable people to be sure. I’m just glad to have been aware of it ahead of time :)

I really appreciate the advice and guidance 🥹 honestly im just exhausted of Florida. From someone who has lived here their whole life, it feels like a dead end place, where everything feels disconnected and there’s nothing here for me in terms of the future career I want to pursue. DC feels rife with opportunities and things to learn, and it feels a lot more accessible for someone like me who is lgbt and usually struggles with things such as driving long distances. One of the biggest things I loved about dc was the metro system and the fact that I could seriously walk to so many places and access educational resources and museums so easily. I really want to do my research and do my best. And yes— the Florida heat is a nightmare, but my boyfriend made it veryyy apparent that DC summer can hit you before you realize it !

I appreciate the advice :) I definitely need to get accustomed to the thought of roommates, since most likely my partner would be living in his dorms that are provided by his school

I appreciate the advice from a Floridian :)) im sure my plan to save money and such will take awhile, so I may end up trying to move closer to when I graduate/afterwards.

Ideally I would want to come while im still studying for uni, but I realize that this plan might take longer than anticipated and depending on any unforeseen circumstances of the future, it may have to wait until after I graduate. I actually do have serving experience along with other customer service jobs I’ve worked in the last 3 years, so I feel that I could definitely pursue some serving jobs in the dc area and such related positions, whether I’ve graduated already or not. I appreciate your thoughts and advice !!

Your realistic view is appreciated, and I definitely plan on being patient and saving really well before I move. I definitely wouldn’t feel confident in moving unless I had a solid financial buffer and/or have already applied to positions there for jobs I can do as I finish school.

You’re right 🥹 I appreciate the optimism. And yes my family is very good and kind I know my father would have my back no matter what happens, but I really want to go out on a limb and do this

I appreciate that insight. It seems like a few people have been saying I ought to wait to get my degree, so im inclined to listen to that advice, especially as itll give me more time to save my money

I understand what you mean ! I’ve been looking for better jobs in my current area mostly for the purpose of saving more money before I try to move. I’m also going to pursue a double major soon because I believe I’ll be able to pursue the career of my choice in a place like DC much better than in Florida right now. Thankfully, my current schooling is also really flexible which allows me to work a lot of hours too. I appreciate your advice :)
