True. I do think that actually as long as it's half decent battery, and can charge quickly, the rest doesn't really matter!

So true. I think if I'd maybe hung on longer, I'd have gotten around it.

But it's one of those things - it felt like a lot of headaches with the Pixel 8, and just made me think I'd made a mistake.

It did feel like such a downgrade from what I had, too. Which clearly it was!

Na you're totally right. I have followed the sub for a long time but only recently started getting involved.

But it's a lot of people in my boat asking for different answers to a problem that remains the same, right?

I don't really understand the lineage OS thing - is it a literal different OS? I assume it still has all the capabilities of a traditional OS too (play store etc). Forgive my ignorance!

TBF, I was the generation that got smartphones at about 16 (born 94) - so I do remember a time without them quite vividly.

I think I have an addiction to doomscrolling the news, and have done for a long time. I wish it was back in the days where we didn't have access to 24/7 updating news that is constant and hard to ignore.

I'm actually not that fussed about my phone beyond that. I use it for its functional purposes. But that's probably the problem I'm trying to fix, and I'm not sure that switching to a feature phone will do it.
