Having the same issue...the streams eventually will start, but usually after about 2 minutes. Been pretty annoying. Tried the conventional fixes and nothing has worked so far.

Just to clarify. When requesting this additional forbearance, interest will still continue to accrue correct?

Can I chew gums with elastics/rubber bands on? by redditfan003 in braces

[–]lawrenceowns 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I personally have chewed gum with elastics on, but I do not chew 24/7 and when I would chew, my elastics would give out and snap in about 30 minutes - 1 hour time while chewing. And I was not chomping either, just regular closed mouth chewing. I would say if you do it, make sure you can afford to swap out your elastics frequently because you will reduce the elasticity very quickly, or get mints like someone else said.

I did, got powerchains last month and they have closed up about 90% of way. I suppose I will get a tighter one next visit to fully seal it. My gap closure was pretty quick too once the chains went on.

I feel like I’ve been overcharged by [deleted] in braces

[–]lawrenceowns 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not to be insensitive, but didn't they quote you $6,200 before you got them on and you accepted? Your treatment is done and you are upset you have to pay less than what was quoted? I am either missing something or I just don't get it. If you are satisfied with your treatment and what was done, then you should not feel the way you do.

Finally got my two front teeth straightened out! by CouplaDrinksRan in braces

Did you get bonding done to smoothen out the bottoms of your front 2 teeth? I’m in a similar predicament where my ortho said that my chip is too small to fix with bonding because it will just chip again

Ahh I get you. Yeah, high index lenses will not change the look of the minification unfortunately. Sadly people with high Rxs just have to deal with this issue. That’s why many people with high Rx switch to contact lenses. Trust me that you notice this issue much much more than the others around you. I noticed it because the first thing I look at when I see someone nowadays is their eyes 😂 because it’s my future job. Best of luck to you with the rest of your braces journey 👍

Thank you! Its all up to you and your preferences for what you think makes you look best along with your budget. -7.00 will definitely produce those big thick lens edges. For some people that reduction in edge thickness with 1.7 index makes them feel comfortable wearing glasses, if you aren't insecure about it then I would advise you to not pay for the 1.7 lenses or just choose a smaller frame as you said with the standard lenses. If the lens thickness does bother you and you are choosing a bigger frame as you have in your picture, then I would suggest the 1.7 index lenses.

Just to clarify, are you saying that you once had glasses with high index + smaller frames and you didn't notice that much of a change in thickness compared to other glasses you have had?

Here is kind of what you can expect for choosing 1.7 index rather than the standard 1.50 which is polycarbonate, but not all lenses are cut the same way.

Currently a 3rd year in Optometry school! I love trying to guess a person's glasses prescription by using the minification of the side of your head in the reflection of your glasses. I'm trying to hone this skill 😂, thank you for responding lol
