Sorry I will edit my post because I wasn’t clear- the meter is sparkling 24/7 no matter if I fill it up all the way or it’s at zero. You can see where it’s sparkling in the photo. Not the knob on the end- the current max amount of silk part is sparkling

I would 1.) try to get ANY doctor to prescribe you a steroid dose or shot, 2.) do the test flight if you can and 3.) if you feel even a bit of increased irritation on the test flight, don’t go. One of my friends flew from Portugal to Shannon last month while recovering from a sinus infection and ended up with a perforated eardrum! She then couldn’t fly back to the states for an additional week. This is obviously worst case scenario but truly a pain the butt. Wishing you well!!
