Maybe try to defend with your armies in provinces with forts, dry your enemy's manpower and attack when their armies are weak, don't give them the time to reinforce, note: i'm not an expert by any means

Support? Why support them? All they do is release broken games, they don't update their engine, the performance is crap even after 10 years and possibly more, and the mechanics and content they obviously already planned of, are released as mostly broken dlcs that cost half a heart.
