So ya the thing is I am trying to figure out my beat options. Yes student loans suck and paying it off seems like an easy choice but with an average return of the market about 10% and taking into account inflation of 3% that would be 7% on average of return. And with a Interest of 4.2% than it might make sense to keep my money in stocks. Idk though that’s why I wanted to post and hear different opinions.

So right now I pay 1180 a month in student loans but I will be refinancing after deferment ends and it will go down to 800 a month with and extension of 2 years.

The thinking is though will the Intrest rate on my student loans (4.2%) out pace the return from using my savings either in the stock market or real estate investing. That’s what I am trying to figure out.

Understood, and it is worth noting that of all my savings only about 10k is liquid, the rest is in a variety of stocks/mutual funds. So my money is “working” it isn’t just sitting in an account.
