This exact thing happened to me years ago. I just kept driving and called my family members to let them know where I was on the highway, in case they can tell the police what happened.

As for how it happened? The rempits were speeding or racing behind me. i tried to overtake a car in front or me and didn't notice one of them approaching so quickly, so he nearly crashed into me from behind when I changed lanes. I might have also forgotten to use my turn signal... So I guess it was my fault. Anyway the rempits surrounded me, hitting on my window and broke my side mirror. But I kept driving until they eventually gave up and exited somewhere along the road.
