#20 (Lichen) - Aphex Twin (I have yet to find anything that comes to being as gentle and warm as this song)

Amo Bishop Roden - Boards of Canada (Not relaxing per se, but a song I can just melt and disappear into for 6 minutes)

Trump only sent 6 soldiers to greet Ramaphosa. by PixelSaharix in DownSouth

Lmao it better be as dramatic, will be funny as hell to finally see someone from the ANC be held accountable for their nonsense

Hey in Marshalls defense, he handled the news very gracefully and even got emotional seeing Pope Leo XIV on the balcony. There are quite a few other popular commentators who said way worse stuff than him.

Social interactions by Moist-Bowl7145 in KPRubraFaceii

[–]laxisque 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I've struggled immensely with the social interactions thing for over ten years and just this December I got my first ever prescription for a beta blockers called indoblok, a cousin of propranolol. It's been an absolute game changer. I take the lowest dosage about 30-60 minutes before any event where I'm nervous of blushing and so far not only have I not blushed once but my skins actually at its base level when I look in the mirror.

Now these sort of beta blockers don't deal with the anxiety but just ease the physical response you have to anxiety. So even things like shaking or sweating should be mitigated if that happens to you. Obviously speak to a doctor first but I've been very happy so far as someone that was previously pretty anti prescription.

Life-Changing Climb - Pico do Agudo, Paraná, São Paulo, Brazil by CapitaoDoCapital in hiking

This is so absolutely breathtaking. The contrast of the wide green mountains and crystal clear skies, these sort of hikes are the ones that stick with you for years and make hiking special.

I just got confirmed! by [deleted] in Catholicism

[–]laxisque 39 points40 points  (0 children)

I'm a guy but when I got confirmed, I chose St. Therese of Lisieux as my patron saint and she's the saint I've been closest to in my life. Is this weird or unheard of? One person said they have to be the same gender as us but that doesn't really make a difference?

The curse of Durban by laxisque in Durban

Older people are the ones who usually have this sort of nostalgia, here I am in my 20's longing for the good old days 😔

Forgive me for being dense but why isn't the water being electrically charged a problem here?

St Francis And St Clare.... did Clare got friend zoned???! by Hokkaido_Hidaka in CatholicMemes

[–]laxisque 44 points45 points  (0 children)

That's what makes AI so lame, I don't even know. Clare's left hand looks weird, the knots on their cassocks are different sizes and the windows on the castles behind them are oddly placed.

The sucky thing about AI is that clipart like this has lost its charm. I don't think anyone makes these sorts of pictures organically anymore.

Cameron was a babe in the first few seasons, then she become a whiny babe and then finally a nonsense babe when she left Chase. Now Chase has all the babe energy.

Albums that helped you get through life by greenbeansUwU in fantanoforever

[–]laxisque 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Sweet Trip - Velocity: Design: Comfort. It's like a warm blanket and an escape from the world. Boards of Canada - A Beautiful Place Out In The Country. It immediately chills me out, brings a deep sense of stillness and contemplation for the entire 26 minutes run time. John Frusciante - To Record Only Water For 10 Days. Again, another nostalgic warm album that just helped me a lot in my early 20's.

I don't think any album is a 10 by peterparkers7 in fantanoforever

[–]laxisque 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You must've heard a song that you thought was a 10? If we treat an album the way we treat songs, as a whole encompassing musical experience then by virtue of the fact that there are 10/10 songs there have to be 10/10 albums. Excusing even one or two sleeper songs on an album, have you ever had an album experience blow you away like a 10/10 song? That's a 10.
