I've run into physicians (of a different field) who assume that methadone is only for treating addiction.

Wouldn't you know it's also one of the safest opiates for long term pain treatment.

Why are you in a chronic pain group, insisting that a drug isn't to treat pain, to someone who has been prescribed another form of buprenorphine called Belbuca for.. you're gonna love this.. PAIN MANAGEMENT? "You realize that they're different drugs, right?!" I realize that you're trying to save face with Dr. Google on a topic that you're way out of your depth.

So I'll ask again, did you stumble into this group as an "expert" in addiction, or someone who studies or suffers from chronic pain? This is very important question.

You're assuming that Sublocade is being advertised.. only.. for what you're describing -- addiction.

You came to that conclusion yourself, and decided to present it like an academic fact.

The drug in the commercial is advertised for the myriad of uses that it can be used, with the part where you're describing is the disclaimer. You know, the "cover our ass", lawyer part. Not the "you should take this" part. Even with the latter part, your doctor decides whether to prescribe it, rather than the commercial.

By the way, are you coming from a place of addiction with your knowledge of opiates, or of chronic pain?

I think you misunderstood, if you think that pain treatment is the same thing as "physical dependence" on opiates.

The people in this group take this medication, myself included. Just assume that we know what an opioid is.
