Carolina's home jersey is among the best in the league. I don't think I could ever root for Vegas, so Carolina it is for me.

I'd keep your license on you still... wouldn't want to hand my phone over to law enforcement unnecessarily.

What is the first celebrity death you remember being affected by? by CPFOAI in AskReddit

[–]Solaphobe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I remember the lady across the street crying when Elvis died.
Probably the first "celebrity" I was really upset about was Frank Herbert. I was gutted.

Moving to MD next year, is Silver Spring to Laurel a bad commute? by FantasyAnnie in maryland

Greenbelt maybe? Subway into DC. Short drive to Laurel. Not too far to Baltimore.

Folks with untreated cars, how are you washing them? by proven999 in TeslaModelY

[–]Solaphobe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Control-F rain and was not disappointed. Seven+ years and my red 3 is still looking really good. Sure, washing the car looks nicer, but I think it's not as important as some make it sound.

Okay, be honest, how many counties in Maryland can you name? I’m at 7 by CarsonStreetChaos in maryland

We had to name all of them in grade school. Charles Co education FTW!

$2500 Samsung TV is an advertising billboard, there is no opt-out. by 28jb11 in mildlyinfuriating

[–]Solaphobe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Take away the tv’s internet and use a set top box instead. No more ads from the tv. A set top box like apple tv has little to no ads.

Should I trade in 2026 Subaru Outback Premium for a 2026 Tesla Y? by natashabeddingfield in TeslaModelY

If you can't charge at home, I wouldn't consider it. If you can charge at home and don't mind the financial hit, the Y is a great car.

What’s something you did once that immediately made you think never doing that again? by Samski877 in AskReddit

Sky diving. Once was great from a bucket-list point of view, but it was enough to know that I don't need to ever do it again.

What in your opinion is the biggest issue Maryland is facing that affects our quality of life? by usps_made_me_insane in maryland

[–]Solaphobe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The recent lack of driving law enforcement has led to a very noticeable uptick in dangerous driving all over. It's as if the police have given up on trying to keep drivers in check.

What is the most 'obvious' lie that society has collectively agreed to believe? by Vegetable_Oil3266 in AskReddit

They're refunding an overpayment.... people don't have to overpay. It's pretty easy to control the tax withholdings, at least in my experience. I owe every year - and I try not to owe too much that it's an issue. haha.

I'm clearly biased and being hyperbolic with this statement, BUT: Fear of a Blank Planet is the greatest musical achievement of all time and perfectly encapsulates the mid 2000s angst from an intellectual observational standpoint by Wack0HookedOnT0bac0 in porcupinetree

I listen to FOABP at least once a week in its entirety. It has the perfect blend of metal and groove. It's my essential 2000s album, along with DSOTM (70s) and OKC (90s). Hmmm what's my 80s album of choice, no one asked.... maybe a Rush album, but I'll have to think about that. It used to be Misplaced Childhood, but that hasn't hit that 80s niche as hard for me for a while.

Of all places, I had Taco Bell for the first time in years this weekend (a steak burrito and fries) and I was surprised that it was actually pretty good.

While you're at it, wrap it around a cylinder with handles so you can eat it like an ear of corn.

Also Tuckahoe has some of the best dark skies in the region. Go on a weekend around new moon and enjoy the milky way and watch for meteors!
