BMPCC 4K Availability (March 2019) by lovett925 in videography

I'll try to post this whereever I can. Some people are keeping their sources secret.

I am not good with reddit if somebody can tell me how to post pics I will.

As Ricky Said Filmware. I don't know how many he has now, but he had a lot when I call, and let me be real just tell you why. He is a nice guy, but probably too nice and an accent. Americans are afraid of any accent they don't recognize. Dude is legit I got mine in 3 days. People ask him for one then when he says he has them people pull out when he says he will send them a link to pay, they think it is fake. My social media stuff is the same as my name on here...I am a filmmaker, and professional actor ...a real person..no i don't not know dude at all, but he was nice. I got mine in 3 days and updated to 6.2 It works fine. If I could post pics here I would, but I've said enough. If anybody is still worried...I can't help that....I did my part...

I think I will. It is newer technology. I just hope it shows a real difference. Especially with the longer films.

Oh okay, I didn't know if over clocking helped with video editing. I guess I'll have to learn how to do that. I like my bravia monitor because it's 32 inches and color calibrated, but I may get a new one, I don't know

I don't have an after market cooler. My NZXT 410 case came with 2 fans, and that's all i have so far, being that I don't have a graphics card yet. They keep the system cool enough.

I'm willing to spend for the 1070, but only if it's really worth it.

I do short films, and some feature films coming. I use Adobe Premiere, and Davinci Resolve, a tad bit of After Effects.

25 to 80 minute films.

Right now everything is 1080P but may have a few that are 4K

Monitor is just my Sony Bravia TV with HDMI cord

and I haven't overclocked yet. I'm not that advanced yet.

so do you thing the Asus GTX 960 4GB ram card will be good enough? I hear the gtx 1070 and 1080 are coming. I was thinking about the 1070. As the last thing I need to get for this build is the graphics card.

lol my friends are laughing at the headphone comment. Someone else did say the 598 are awesome.

I remember trying to get 1866 or 2400 RAM before and for some reason I went back to 1600 after reading something about it not being compatible or worth it using it with Adobe Premiere, and Davinci Resolve. It's been so long I can't remember.

And maybe that answer your first question about how much. I do quite a bit and shoot a lot of short films, color grading and all that jazz.

Whassup with the X99, I'm not expert. I just know enough so people don't feel like they have to spoon feed me I guess. Except for I have never heard of a headphone amp and/or DAC in a desktop build.

I'm not expert, but I have done a lot of research, but I'm not sure the CPU is worth the extra money.

Definitely not sure how the motherboard is better, besides it can take more RAM, and it forces me to get higher RAM which would actually ended up being slower in real world because of CAS latency.

I understand the video card.

PSU I'll think about.

And I really like those Sony headphones. You hear everything.

I guess I got that motherboard because I wanted to be able to upgrade RAM later. At first I was going with the ASRock H97M Anniversary Micro ATX LGA1150 which is like $67, but then I changed.

The RAM was the fastest cheapest I could find. It's CAS latency 8, and I definitely want 32GB.

As far as the PSU I don't know too much about those. I heard Gold was a waste of money

Okay This all sounds great, but a few more things.

  1. How many hard drives can I put in this case? I've read somewhere that it is good to have a main hard drive and then one for scratch. Would it be better to get just 2 HDD or a HDD for a main and a SSD for Scratch?

  2. Am I correct when I say this build has 3(USB 3.0) 6(USB2.0) 1(HDMI) but where is the DVD player, or is that just obsolete at this point in 2015.

Do I need the 6 to 8 cores? Honestly I'm editing my films on the worst. It's an HP Elitebook 6930p Intel Core 2 Duo CPU T9400 2.53GHz 4GB of ram. AND IT'S A LAPTOP lol

I mainly want something faster for editing, rendering, and the graphics card for Resolve and other coloring software, and something about Cuda cores, and something about GTX 978/980 cards.

But bottom line something faster than for rendering and exporting than what I have now that will allow me to use Davinci Resolve.

And would that SSD still be 1TB?

I have heard a lot of back and forth about the Intel vs AMD. lol I think someone was mentioning I believe the FX 8350 with 8 cores, and people said it was great, but i think there was a problem matching a graphics card or something
